A few weeks ago my clutch lever suddenly won't pull in to the grip.  It goes  to about a finger width away from the grip.  I tried bleeding it  but realized that it wasn't going to help any.

It never made any noise or acted strange until it acted this way.

Does anyne have a anything constructive to add here?

As usual, I really appreciate any and all comments.

Thanks,

You should investigate further to determine what the problem is. Simplest things first!

(1) It could be the lever itself.

(2) It could be the master cylinder internals.

(3) It could be the clutch.  If so there are a few things that could be responsible.

Investigate, investigate, investigate!

I'd take it apart. Remove the lever and pushrod to see is something has lodged in there, Like a rock chip or splinter of wood from the road.

Sounds like a classic case of rivit'itis, but check the handle bar mechanics first.

10 - 4 on the rivit'itis. That's the way mine acted, plus it was almost impossible to find neutral and the bike would "creep" at a stop with the lever pulled in(to the hard stop). Complete new clutch = no more problems.

Ditto on the rivits, Mine went out when I was 1200 miles from home, I rode it back on I75 and rebuilt the clutch when I got home
