Is there any such thing as a gas cap that tells you how much fuel you have left for a standard Valk?

If not there should be.

we had an old snowmobile growing up that had a cork on a twisted flat rod that would turn the indicator needle of the gas gauge.  purely simple design, i thought that was neat.  wouldn't work on the valk 'cause of the hump in the middle of the tank.

Depends how you bend the internal rod. A little playing around might get you there; like a car's in-tank guage and pump. Mostly, I would look for an I/S tank.

RESET your trip meter every time ya get gas.

When it hits 120 miles start lookin for a gas station.
If that no work

Tell the old man ya want a I/S tank and have it painted up in dem dar pretty colors.......
