Getting a new set of Metzeler tires put on this week. Getting rid of the Avons. Sick and tired of the cupping and the constant loss of air. Plus this new model of avon are crap. My front one is the noisiest  tire I've ever ran on any motorcycle.
My question is what air pressure you all run in them? I ran 47psi and 45psi in the Avons.
Thanks Eddie

I ran Metz (only) on two ISs for years, until I went to car tires on the back.

44 Front.   45 Back.    Less, and tires will wear faster.

I run Metzeler's as well and keep 43 in the front and 45 in the rear. ('99 Interstate).
When I got the current front tier I decided to try Nitrogen in it.  That has been about three months and so far it has not lost ANY pressure.  The rear is still just air, and in the same time it has lost maybe a couple of pounds all together.  They claimed the Nitrogen would not escape as badly as air, but that may be just a marketing ploy.  I just figured, hey for 6 bucks, what could it hurt?  I don't know if the good pressure readings are a result of the new tire or the Nitrogen.  If it keeps performing this well I may go have the air evacuated from the rear tire and have it refilled with Nitrogen as well.

Before going to a CT in back, I would run 40/42, front/rear in my Metz.  I would get 12k plus in back and the last front tire had over 16k with no cupping, but was starting to gator-back down the center to I replaced before traveling to InZane. FWIW....I ride solo all the time, extra weight only comes into play on trips with the baggage.

I should clarify that a bit however. When I ran the stock size rear, the mileage was always under 10k by quite a bit. When I went to the 200 Metz, that's when the mileage went up to 12k or better.

I am running 880`s at 40 front 41 back. I have 10,120 miles on them at this time and looks like another 5,000 on front and MAYBE another 2 to 3,000 on rear. I guess the pressure works for me. I ride solo a lot and weigh 170. With SO we will top out at 300#  Roll Eyes I have no cupping that I can tell.

All I can say is WOW! and glad you guys can get that kind of miles out your tires. My last set (and I mean my last) of Metz started cupping at 3500 miles and were shot at 4900, thats with 45 psi. I'm guessing it is mainly due to the straight roads in my area. I don't get to use the outside two thirds of my tires much.

I always run 39/43 front rear.  That is till a NMST.

Isn't AIR 78% nitrogen ANYWAY?  You're paying $6 for 22% of wht you're getting, and it's the most common element in air anyway.

I just got 19,000 miles on a Metzer in the front.  Ran 33psi just like the sticker on the swing arm suggested.  I'm getting a new tire this week.  My wife and I ride two up 50% of the time.

On the rear I'm dark side running at 40psi.

Grin Good point.  The only real thing I can think of is that with the Nitrogen you know it is dry.  Not like some compressed air from a tank with no moisture separator.

I was mostly being a smart ass.

I would be GLAD to sell people 78% nitrogen for HALF the cost of 100% nitrogen.  That's a DEAL ain't it?

I had one set also and will never have another. I got close to 8000 on the rear but it was in bad shape when I got ride of it. I took the front off shortly after. It wore on the left side only and thought something was wrong with my bike. I have a ct on the bake and a bridgestone on the front with 16k on it now and it is wearing but at least the whole tire is wearing. I did nothing else to the bike.
