It cooled down tonight here in my part of Texas... a bit breezy, but nice enough I stopped cleaning the bike about 7:00 and decided to go for a spin (thats why it is never clean).
I had been hearing a bit of sputter at the lowend, and suspect a bit of gunk in the small jets, so I loaded her up on chemtool at about a half a tank of gas and away I went. Vac hoses etc. were changed lately, though I may pull the carbs and inspect the o-rings.. they are about due. BTW...the slow ride did help.
It is hard to keep this girl at 45 or so...my target was about 2k rpms.. I kinda succeeded for about 60 miles. Out here in the far reaches of civilization, people generally run about 80 mph. I didn't see too many this evening trying to eat my backside.
As I was puttering along, I realized how hard it was to not just gas up to 70-80 as I normally do

. 45 mph is slow when you are just riding a road with no particular scenary or twisties... Can you do it??
