At long last, the doc told me I could take the training wheels off.  In plain language, that means that he told me my knee is healed enough to ride again.  I have to admit, I was a little worried, since it has been 3 1/2 months since I rode at all, and with the alternator troubles, I wasn't riding much before that.  However, it seems it IS just like riding a bike, and you never forget.  I was hardly out of the driveway before it felt just like old times.

Now I just have to figure out how I can switch to a faster vehicle, and suddenly a 10 minute drive to work in the truck takes almost an hour.  (Yes, I had to show some massive restraint to keep from taking the whole rest of the day off...)

So, riding a bike is just like riding a bike?  And, this from our rocket scientist? cooldude

Glad you're back in the saddle.  Hope to see you at the Houston Ride For Kids next month (and then in Kerrville).  The new ride route should be fun.

I came up with a hypothesis.  I tested it.  I reported results.  What's wrong with that?  Very scientific.  (:

I'm working on the RFK.  I may be out of town, but I'm working on it.
Definitely we'll see you in Kerrville.
