There's never a cop around when you need one.  Until today ......

Wizard and I were driving home from errands this afternoon.  Directly in front of us was a marked Sheriff's Deputy car.  Directly in front of the cop was an idiot.

This idiot pulled out to pass (I'm not sure he was out of the no passing zone quite yet) apparently without looking.  He ran two on coming vehicles off onto the shoulder.   Wizard and I watched this incredulously, even more surprised that the cop didn't light him up immediately.

I guess the cop wanted to be sure the guy made it safely back into our lane before he added blue light adrenaline to the mix, and the truck in front of him was pulling over to let the cop through before he even hit the lights.

I can just imagine the guy in the passing car sitting there wondering "what'd I do?"

It could have been pretty ugly, but the oncoming drivers were alert.  So, instead, it turned out to be poetic justice.  And funny, too.
