I'm looking for some aftermarket mirrors and don't want to make another mistake. The last pair I bought was too small of a head and poor field of vision. They look great parked I've seen the Ken-Sean that look like stock VTX mirrors, I like the look of the Kurry Magnum, but they have mixed reviews so I'm sitting on the fence with my wallet waiting for some input from those of you that have tried them or have something else you like. Must be stable even at highway speeds, good field of vision, flat glass. Thanks, looking forward to all the input Pics are good

I have tried several different types, all of which looked nicer than oem but none functioned as well. I am one of the worst offenders for unnecessary bling but I gotta have the most functional mirrors available so I keep coming back to the stockers. If you find something that honestly works better I would be happy to hear about it!

I have some ghosting in my mirrors and I will need to replace them, so I too am interested in what mirrors (include pics) you have and where you got them...sort of hi-jacking.

I had the Kuryakyn Magnum, long stem, convex glass mirrors on several bikes, including the Valk, but I simply could not get one mirror adjusted correctly without turning the mount/lever to a position I did not like. The mirrors and glass are very good, just a problem with adjustment/allignment. My supervalk came with the Yamaha (or Yamaha knock-off) mirrors ChrisJ refers to (or very close to them), and they are better than the Kuryakyn Magnums, especially for adjustment/allignment. However, my mirrors have the stems turned catywumpus, in a straight up position, which look a bit goofy but which raise the mirrors right up to my eye level. I cannot be 100% sure the HDL mirrors are the same as mine, and will adjust this way, but I think so. Generally speaking, mirror adjustment varies based on a rider's height, and I am 5'9", but with short legs and a long body. But the point is, most of us will get a better functioning mirror if we can raise them up higher... not out further. Best pic I can find of the stems being turned to put the Yami mirrors at max height. (and I am not looking at my own chest or arm at all)

I too have tried several different mirrors but found nothing that works as well (for me) as the OEM.

I love the large convex glass, but have had one hell of a time keeping the longer stems secure (particularly on the clutch side). Even the smallest bump in the road radiates up through the handlebars and, for some reason, dislodges the stem from its set position. I'm now trying blue Locktite, but if this fails to work - I'm going back to OEM (or a viable alternative). Terry

Terry, I also had problems keeping the individual parts secure and tight. They are aluminum, so if you really pull on the wrenches you will destroy them. What I used with pretty good success was plumbers tape on the threads that continuously came loose.

I concur with Chrisj CMA, the HDL mirrors (Yamaha) are my favorite. I have had them on for about 8 years now and love them. I think they were relatively inexpensive when compared to others. Was nice to get away from the Honda factory mirrors that seem to appear on most of there bikes.

I have a pair of Ken Sean touring mirrors which are somewhat larger than the OEM and the mirrors are clear. I turned the stems around to make them a little taller and narrower. They work fine for me on my I/S and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I had Kurry Magnums on another bike and they were OK, but I like the cheap Ken Seans better...JTL

I bought a pair of mirror risers from a guy in New Zealand a little over a year ago. Raises the stock ones about an inch and an eigth. They are made from billet aluminum and polish up pretty well. Not sure if he is still around-will look to see if I kept contact info.

Those mirrors from HDL put the actual mirror about 1" higher than the stock stems if that helps

Thanks for all the great input, AS USUAL I will be trying the Ken Sean, price is right. Mirrors need to WORK, they are a needed tool for motorcycling. My last ones were small ovals and just plain dangerous. They loosen up constantly, almost every bump I'm reaching forward to tighten them. They will be pitched into the "parts-box"

The wife just walked in the door, with a couple of new outfits. Perfect time for me to order new mirrors and grips
