Having owned several bikes, I have always longed to own a Valkyrie.  A dream come true as I stoled one from a dealership in NW Indiana last fall.  It is a dressed out 01 Standard that was calling out my name as I entered the dealership. Having logged 5,000 miles this summer mostly with my buddies, they get majorly distracted as we stop for fuel (and we all know that is often), with all the people gathering around the bike asking questions.  Bike riding has typically been my quiet time with a total focus on my surroundings and scenery.  The Fat Lady commands a lot of attention and questions from the crowds.  I'm not complaining, these are wonderful machines.............I guess I need to buy a bigger tank!

LOL!!! Yup, that's VERY much the truth!

I used to be a very quiet, introverted, shy geek...

Got a Valkyrie 10 years ago (Almost, it'll be 10 years December 23rd of this year). Within a year or so I was outgoing, talkative, etc...

My spousal unit has mentioned several times how much owning that bike has changed me... You just can't be an introvert on a Valk for long!

If you really want to "WOW" the lookers, show them the nickel trick. Since you're new to the Valk you may know what this is. You can stand a nickel on its edge on your valve cover, start the bike and rev it to 4 grand and the nickel will remain standing!!! Awesome smoothness.

Hef, you nailed the best WOW factor. I did that and forgot it was there.
I took off and found the nickle behind the intake runner, 500 miles later.
She saves me money.

It's true!  cooldude

While I get compliments on my H-D RoadGlide all the time from strangers, even my H-D buds can't stop looking at my Valk when I bring it around to "open" (meaning no H-D needed) events. It just has that effect on folks.  Smiley

It's the perfect blend of classic lines, big tires, and oh yeah, then there is that big Honkin' motor that grabs everyones attention. Of course about 300 pounds of chrome don't hurt either.   Wink That's what got me a long time ago. And the more I have it, the more I love it!! Cool Cool Cool
