Do any of you know if there is a board for Florida riders of our favorites motorcycles? I'll be taking my Valk down there early in November, which used to seem far away, but now is around the corner.

My Valk will stay down there, while my H-D stays up here for the summer. Problem is that even though that has been the plan all along, I have come to appreciate the Valk so much that I find excuses to ride it all the time.  Smiley

Wouldn't surprise me to be looking for another one for up here for next summer. Even my SO enjoys sitting on the back of the Valk more so it may not be an impossible task.  Wink

Anyways, I'll be looking for some fellow Valk admirers in Florida to hook up with for rides and swapping stories. I live in the New Smyrna Beach area, but you know how it goes: "Have Valk will travel".

Thanks in advance. If you prefer, you could PM me and I'll get back to you.  Cool

There are quite a few of us, but with the heat, not a lot of riding been going on.  DD and Fred live in New Smyrna.  She aquired the Interstate trike when Fred bought a VTX a few years ago.  I live 20 miles N. of Gainesville.  There are several in the Orlando area and some around Tampa and a few up in the N. part of the state.  We usually post on the FL. board about rides to eat on the weekend.  This weekend is the Starke Fl bikefest, and several of us have intentions of braving the heat.

Thunderbolt,

Thanks for the link. I hope to meet up with many of you later on this year. Sounds like you do there, what we do here - ride to eat! Maybe that's why my clothes get tight all the time.  Roll Eyes

As for the temperature, the time that I'm there is is perfect for me. Last winter everyone complained about how cold it was. I'll take that any time. I'll start following the Florida board and catch up with you guys when I get down there.

Thanks again. cooldude

Tropic Traveler,

I actually moved my mother to DeLand this past spring. She tells me it's been in the 90's most days, with a lot of rain almost daily. Typical Florida summer weather from what I'm told.  Grin Grin

I'd be ready to try a summer down there, but the wife isn't ready to cut her ties with Connecticut. I'm still running my business up here, so...  Smiley

I get cranky when folks tell us we're "Snow Birds". I keep reminding them that I own my house in Florida, pay taxes on it all year, and "choose" to only live there half the year. It's a pain though since I can't claim Homestead down there, or get Florida licenses at residents rates.

I hope to meet up with you when I get down there. You've got 3 good looking Valks and I'd like to hear more about that Triumph triple you talk about.
