Hail to the king baby!

The bike is down for repairs. I am having the rear fender repaired and found some bad electrical.
I found the light disconnect had not been re-installed correctly before. Several of the wires had been 'repaired' after the block had been hit by the tire at some point.  I went down to NAPA and got a new 5 pin connector for a replacement. Probably added 8 inches of wire length to the loom, but the thing was a tight fit anyways. The block I got fits perfectly in the OEM block holder. I feel better with the solder joints and the marine grade heat shrink tubing I put on it. After the wiring was done, I replaced the rear shock upper bushings with the Honda VTX green'uns. I also found the #3 vacumn hose had a bad crack at the bottom. Cut off an inch and hope this gets the idle a bit smoother.  Spent the rest of the night cleaning. From what my wife saw, I didn't miss anything on TV since the  Cowboys sucked and the Rangers lost.  This morning stopped by Harbor Freight and bought-- an 18 LED flashlight has a hanger and a magnet on it, the marine grade heat shrink tubing, a digital caliper for 10 bucks, some rivets for a future project, and another tape measure,  I am always hunting a tape measure. Probably polish some aluminum tomorrow and get the Leatherlyke bags beefed up this week.  Guess me and the stead will be ready for a long ride next weekend. I am expecting the fender by Friday and it will be together that night.  Thanks for the space to rant. I feel better now.

UPDATE:
Got the fender Friday! Looks lots better. Hardest part was getting the turnsignal/liscense plate apart to get the wiring done. Found one bolt stripped. Probably replace the unit this winter. Took a 128 mile trip today and she rode nice. Gas mileage went up. Went 108 miles before hitting reserve. When I first bought this bike, 86 miles was the best. So, probably do a full replacement of lines this winter too!

Question. If I have a slight popping, from my MP3 player using the FM radio.  Almost like it is just one cylinder.  Is this common or might there be one plug wire getting bad? Like the #3 cyl where the vac hose was bad and the wire looked a bit burnt.

Update: One saddle bag with re-enforcments done. Ready to paint with the krinkle paint. Ordered some new grommets from CableOrganizer, got them with 1/4 inch gap. Just epoxyed the last plate on the other bag. Will pull the clamps and rivet them tomorrow. Yeah, almost have the bike back in shape. I will need to find some spacers to get the lock grooves back past the new grommets and the 2 plates.
