I was just looking at the classifieds and seen a 97 with only three thousand miles, wow.  Thats a brand new bike, just waiting to be cromed out and loved, wish i could buy it, but its not the right time to buy for me anyway. That will make someones dream come true. I was at the local honda shop the other day talking to the owners son. he told me that the Valkyrie is more wanted now than when it was new. He said that he has people just waiting to buy them as he gets them. I was trying to buy some of his old signs to hang in the garage, But he won't part with them.

Why aren't people riding their bikes? (Present company excluded) I see so many Valkyries out there with less that ten thousand miles. Not just Vakyries, HD,Roadstar etc. Except Gold Wings if you see a Gold Wing for sale she usually has miles on her. My first Valkyrie had 2 previous owners and it had less that 8000 miles and my Valkyrie I own now had 2 previous owners and had less than 8500 miles. (Both are '99)

just the way it is.
My 98 had right at 10,000 miles on it when I bought it and it was 7 years old. I fixed that.
The guy that I bought it from, had 3 bikes. He had a shadow he had ridden nearly as much as he had polished it. Pretty bike. He wanted something bigger, so he bought a used Valk. I think he was scared of it, because he went on and on about how big of a bike it was. Then he immediately bought a 1200 Gold Wing. He rotated the three for a while. He went to bike nights on the Valk, rallys at a distance on the V-twin Shadow. Then used the Gold Wing for everything else. His choice.
So the Valk recieved almost no miles while he had it.
That worked out fine for me. I was about to buy a 7 year old Valk that I considered barely broken in, but that at the time looked like it was off the show room floor.

I think a lot of people are "want to be" bikers.  They get a wild hair.  Go buy a bike.  Ride it a little, and then it sits.  Finally, either the wife says get rid of it, or they need the space in the garage.
So, they sell, with very few miles on it.

In Florida it seams allot of folks buy them and dump lots of cash into them and then just ride to bike night uglystupid2 Then they need some cash and try to sell them for too much. Tons of great bikes for sale in Florida, not many are moving, just like Real-Estate. Great time to buy if you have the cash! cooldude

How true.  My '97 Valk that I bought new has relatively low miles on it.   Since I've been riding off and on since 1947, i don't get upset about high mileage riders, that's great!

Twice, i've almost sold the Valk but I'm keeping it in the family. The Valk is like its owners, it's too unique to sell.  I've never ran across a better bunch all brought together by a bike that Honda forgot.

Bought a "slightly used" '98 STANDARD in '99. Loved the motorcycle but hated the seat & in those days only MUSTANG, maybe CORBIN, was making an aftermarket seat. Tried the MUSTANG & a AIRHAWK cushion, couldn't get comfortable.
500-800 mile days would bring tears to my eyes.
15K miles later,sadly sold it @ bought a GoldWing.
Really missed the VALK, so in Feb. of this yr. bought a '00 with 9K miles,MUCH chrome, SUPERTRAPP exhaust + original exh..
THIS 1's stayin' "in the family". Will go to my Grandson & is not to be sold.
Put it in my Will........... Roll Eyes

Always wanted a Valkyrie. When I found that an old hip injury was making me question the ability to keep my balance, I began to think about a trike. Of course, the price of trikes kept me from getting one sooner then I wanted. I saw plenty of Harley and GoldWing trikes but very few Valkyries.

I sold my Suzuki Intruder after I finally found a Valk Trike with a Motor Trike conversion within driving distance and now I'm knee deep in adding all kinds of accessories to her.  Grin Even the Chief of Police  police in my area, who's also a motorcycle fella, said he never seen a Valk Trike. He was all over it! lol.

This is one Trike that will be sold,,,,,,, once I die!  Smiley
