Hey Everyone ! If you live in a state where it gets very cold & snows a lot you will know what I mean when I say, "This morning I felt that feeling you get when FALL is just around the corner." It is a coolness & maybe a feel that ya get. It does not have to be cold but the air has a coolness that spells fall is coming. It is very hot during the daytime but almost cold at night. The first day of September is tomorrow & I am sure we will be getting frost at night pretty soon...then again maybe not. Hard to tell some years. Or it could come in like a freight train...hard & fast. All I know is that I felt it coming this morning. Does anyone else know what I am talking about? It's like when horses hair starts to thicken up. I saw some trees that have changed color a little bit last Sunday in the mountains. Not real bright but changing color just the same. Fall is probably my favorite time of year...really good riding when it is cool. Looking forward to it. Take care everyone & ride safe. tommy t IBA 1990

Sheets,

+1  cooldude I don't know where you live but here in Connecticut it's the same. Noticed both of my big Maples this morning with red, yellow, and orange leaves! Beautiful time of year to ride. Then, early in November, it is a beautiful time of year to move to our Florida house.   Smiley Sorry, but it does make winter more tolerable.  Embarrassed Wink

The far north coast interior of CAL. About 30 miles as a crow flies inland. A slightly different climate zone than the "coast". By mid November we batten down the hatches and dig in for about four months of rain - snow - Ice. Wait for the big thaw long about April 1st. The "south/Gulf" coast sounds perty sweet about January of the year. The various hardwood trees are quite the site around here for the next couple months. Would love to see the north east in the fall of the year one day.

Not many places in the world where the foliage is any more beautiful than Central to Northern New England! cooldude
Problem is that we get so many "leaf peepers" that come up and clog the roads that it can be difficult to move around.  Sad

Another problem is that at that time of the year, all the hotels in the north east raise their rates and fill up fast. (Wonder how the economy will affect that this year?)  Undecided

I can SMELL it.

I played football for 11 years... and there is a SMELL that starts in August, that for me smells like Football.  That quickly turns into fall.  That smell is out there.  It's still hot here... but the humidity is starting to drop, and it smells like fall.

Yep - the past couple of days it has been under 100 degrees here in Florida.  I actually walked outside last night at 9:00PM and didn't sweat.  In no time our 6 full days of the fall season will be upon us!

I used to go past a grove of pawpaws in the Clemson forest on my mountain bike... I forget just where they are now... I would
see them in bloom, I don't guess I ever saw the fruit...

I like fall/ spring weather but really prefer to ride in a tank top and my vest. Sturgis this year was awesome. 90+ but no humidity. Humidity makes for a bad ride for me. Whiskey run weather sucked. Way to humid imho. Plus I like to work on my tan!  Cheesy

Nightly storms and the trees changing color in the river valley. Winter is coming to The Great White North. With luck we won't see snow until mid November, but it 's been cool for August this year.

North America is a BIG place. Nice to hear from such a variety of areas. I believe it is better to have the four seasons than just warm all the time. I ride every month of the year as long as there is not snow or ice on the roads...gotta be careful of the gravel too. Ride safe no matter where ya live.
