I have never posted photos before on here but, I'm going to document this trip so when I return maybe I can post a few ...

I'm REALLY pumped this bike only has 8300 miles on it......Actually Jim has a few of the pics if he has time to post a few that would be great.

Yes sir, Mike is picking up a brand new (practically brand new) 1999 Tourer 11 years after the fact.  He is actually picking up what would have been my 4th Valk had I just been able to persuade my wife to move her car outside so I could have some more garage space!  Going to pick up a bike is a good feeling, be safe!

Man that's a nice looking machine.  Love the paint.  Still has the goofy "unleaded only" tank sticker.  Downright virginal.

I've done it four times for myself and twice for friends.  Five of the six were great rides.  Actually, I guess all six were great rides, one just had some tense moments.

Enjoy it.  Nothing better!

Oh, for the count, two Standards, four Interstates, two blacks, two greens, a blue and cream, and a blue and white.  Mileages ranged from 11k to 86K miles.

Well just walked in the door. I had to trailer it home because no one could take off work with such short notice...Wouldn't have wanted them to anyway.  Long and Hot  it was 100 degrees today in Virginia (according to my mirror thingy).
The bike is exactly as described and looks great.  I will be polishing up all the chrome, some of it has been a lil neglected but not too bad at all.  Darryl Thomas bought this bike in June of 08 and only put 353 miles on it.  Darryl was a great guy to deal with.  Wish everyone was as nice as darryl.....

It kinda acts like it needs a good blow out, or some sea foam  or something like that ran thru it...any ideas??
Thanks again Jim,
Here's how it rolled........
Left home last nite at 8:30 ( left work a lil early )
Home tonite at 9:00pm
In between was a not so fun drive 1016 miles round trip.....I'm getting older  not as much fun as it was when I was younger..!!

But when I saw the Fat Lady those miles melted right away......

Bigdog, congrats on your "new" Tourer. You will find it is a great bike. Quite apparent the Valk. has sat for a while, no good for a Valk., and needs some TLC. I would run some Techron / Seafoam in heavey amounts thru her along with all fuild changes for starters. Good luck.  cooldude

It definitely sounds like at least a couple o Seafoam treatments are in order.  I think most here use 1 can per tank in order to clean up the carbs.  In some cases (like mine) more drastic action had to be taken and replacement of the slow jets were required.  There are plenty of instructions in the Tech forum if it comes to that.
