All you that are traveling, Bike, cage or bicycle, be super cautious as this weekend is labeled as 1 of the deadliest on the road.

If on the bike, run your high beam at all times during daylight hours.

You ask why, have you ever really looked at a low beam on a bike?

It looks like a candle..  High beem is brighter and directed at you.

That's my excuse and I'll shut up now.

I won't be riding this weekend. Instead, I'm taking off three days next week and will hit the road on Wednesday. It gets crazy here around holidays, especailly in the summer. Drunks returning from a day at the beach are plentiful.

The only days my girlfriend and I have off together are holidays and she won't ride on holiday weekends.  She also won't ride at night or on my favorite curvy road (Lime Creek Road).  I think she's a little too cautious but I'm not going to force her into doing something she's not comfortable with.

Where ya been ya Old Fart??.....I was about to put out an APB on you!!..... cooldude

I always run my high beams, BUT I noticed on my trip last weekend that one of them had burned out, so I used low beams for the trip home.... Sad......

BOTH high beams burned out on a trip to Asheville, NC back in 2006...so I replaced both bulbs at the same time....I guess 4 yrs is about right for a bulb to burn out.....I also use my pod/fog lights while riding.....and I just replaced ANOTHER one of those bulbs a week or so ago.....the original bulbs in those lights lasted about 5 years.....I'm going to keep Big Mike busy sending me new bulbs for those things I guess?......maybe they don't make them like they used to?....

I have a whole box of new replacement bulbs for all the other lights on the bike and so far, NONE of them have gone bad..... Undecided.....but at least I have them when I need them.... cooldude

High beams during daylight hours will not blind anyone, just remember to turn them down when dusk sets in.

" High beem is brighter and directed at you."

Although I know this will it is NOT my intention to piss anyone off. Just my thoughts so take it for what it's worth.
I think there are probably better ways to be seen than to irriate the people you meet or irritate the people you are riding behind by using HIGHBEAMS. I have on more than one occasion had people brake light me while I was behind them....With lights on dim.
And I know it disturbs me when I meet any type vehicle driving with brights on during daylight. We as riders need to do less to bother the non riding public.

I don't know how to respond I'm so pissed now so I'll just say,

Hi Mark.

If I irritate them, then they know I am there...and that makes them automatically aware where I am...so high beams for me.  coolsmiley
