If i ever where my Falken tire out that's my next tire , you made a good choice Brother , run it about 36 to 38 psi not 45 to 50! Welcome to the Darkside, Grip & Rip !!!! Where did you get those "Turn out tips " on your exhausts?

I'm going to leave it there for a while. I did about 50 miles with it yesterday, and everything felt great! As for the turn outs, they were on the Lady when I bought her less than 2 years ago. She's a 97 in Fast Black that had 13000 on the clock (49000 now). The tips were on her when I bought her. There are no markings on the tips, so I don't have a clue where they came from. I have an Avon Cobra on the front, and replaced last years rear Cobra with the Tripletread. We are going to get snow and rain over the next couple of days, so my riding year isn't quite starting yet. After the snow is gone I ride 142 miles round trip to work every day, rain or shine. I also just ordered a Dyna ignition for her, thanks to a link in another post with them on sale for 199 shipped.

My journey to the Darkside is complete!! I mounted a Goodyear Tripletread on my Fat Lady today. I took Her for a run on just about every road surface that I could find, and LOVED IT!!! I was going to go with the Hydroedge, but was afraid that the hitch would get in the way of the tire. I also changed out the rear wheel bearings, and went with dual race bearings on both sides, eleiminating the dust seal on the left and turning down the wheel spacer to fit. By the way, I'm ready for my cookie please. I have one ready to INstall myself what size did you go with i have the 205/60, what PSI you running it at?

putting on the Hydroedge 205x65 for the extra highth, but was worried about clearance because of the lower progressive shocks and the trailer hitch. I also did the nut cage mod on the fender. I think that the Hydroedge would still have fit after putting the TT on. I am running 35 psi, but that may change after I get some real miles on it.

Hey Nortman , glad to hear your pleased with the ct ... I'm using the Michelin Pilot 205-55-16 and I and my honey really likes it and it does excellent on wet streets .... I've got about 4500 miles on mine since Dec. and the only thing I have been playing with is the air pressure .... I think I have it now .... at 250 lbs I run 35 lbs when its cold by myself and now thats its getting warmer here in San Antonio I'm down to 30 lbs by myself because I see where the ct heats up four to six lbs and makes for a real bouncy ride .... with two up when its cold I run 36 lbs and 32 when its a warm day in the 80's .... the only thing is that I should have gone with the 205-65 instead , because my gas mileage has dropped off a bit ..... but I was wondering how much room do you have between the swingarm and the tire ..... I thought that that size tire would be too tight a fit ..... would you say that you can slip your finger between the tire and swingarm for clearence ? Thanks Old Geezer Richard

Zorba, I have a 205/65/16 on mine. There is clearance, but not much. I can get an index card between my tire and the swingarm, however I rub the sidewall occasionaly, Iassume its when I lean. I have not yet worn one to a point of concern, just rub enough to keep the dust off and the rubber black.

Congratulations on graduation from the flaming death theory. I run my falken zx512 at 60 psi,as I'm around 250lbs and carry gear and passengers. I like the stiffer ride.

I've got about 3/16 on the drive shaft side, 1 3/4 or so at the front of the swing arm, and about 1 3/8 or so on the left side.

Hey Death Wish , are you sure you run 60lbs in your tire , that seems a lot ... I believe my tire says that max air pressure is 40 lbs .... when my tire heats up to 38 or close to 40 lbs it is real bouncy on my fanny .... and I 'm weighing 250 .... maybe I need some Charmin .... just wondering

Hey Nortman what is the speed rating on your tire , because I had heard that the v rated tire has a stiffer side wall and maybe that might help in the side wall not flexing so much .... the Michelin I'm running is rated at an H and I'm having good luck in the handling after putting 4500 mi on it so far .... but I sure would like to get better gas mileage like before .... I'll try the 65 series when this one wears out .... Thanks Old Geezer Richard
