Is there some special tool needed to adjust the rear shock?  Right now is set to 3.  We hit a bump last weekend which has offered daily reminders since (ouch, that hurts) that we need to take that up a notch to 4 (maybe even 5) for riding 2-up.  Will that adjustment help?  If it is bottoming out, do we need to replace the shocks?  Thanks in advance....

In your tool kit there is a C shaped wrench with and extension handle that slips on the end for leverage.  It's ends slip into the holes of the shock.  Move the shock up one notch and then bring the other one up to match.  Do not move one side up 2 notches in one step without doing the other one in between.  On my tourer, when riding solo, I run at notch 2 but bring it up to 3 when wife goes along.  That one notch makes a big difference for her posterior's comfort.  I would expect the same improvement for you guys going from 3 to 4.  The tourer saddle bags get in the way a little, watch your knuckles, (from one bruised nuckl head!)   Good luck!

Thank you Steve.  Glad you suggested one notch at a time...one notch made a world of difference.
