This morning, watched a segment on CBS Sunday Morning about Royer's Cafe in Round Top. It apparently is the pie capital of the state, or was made out to be such. They surcharge 50 cents extra if you get pie WITHOUT ice cream. It's not very equidistant for DFW, but it's between Austin and Houston and within easy distance of San Antonio. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=5738198n&tag=related;photovideo

Food is great!!!!pie is Great!!!! it is a cool littl town...good roads...I'm up for a ride to Round top...there are great wildflowers in the spring

I'll go to Brenham or Roundtop anytime, even without eating. It is one of the most beautiful places in Texas IMO. If you would like to ride there soon, the Antique Fair in Sept. 29-Oct. 02, lots of traffic. My Wife and I make the trip twice yearly for antique site seeing, usually a couple days of it.
