Ok, its' spring, I know its spring now.  The calender says its spring.  But even more telling than the Summer Solstice marked by a celestial event, the melting piles of snow and things once lost in the back yard finally showing themselfs along with the dead grass, spindly bush and tiny hints of green buds, I KNOW its spring!
  How do I know this?
  By the riders!
Bikes, Trikes, Cruisers, Rockets and even (shudder) scooters!
It was a wonderful day out today and every where I went, stuck in my cage, I saw riders enjoying it.  Lord, it was so good (or bad depending on your point of view) that even the Harley Riders were smiling!  It had to be good.  And yes, I am stricken with envy.  Why?  Two months ago I had surgery once again (for the third time) on my left shoulder.  So, no riding!  At least back then the Dr. says no riding.  He knows I ride the Fat Lady, he knows I love, or live, to ride.  But he says no riding for a while.  "A while", I wrote that down!  At least he said that back in January two weeks after the surgery.  Well, back then it sounded like a plan, couple of months taking it easy and I'll be back as good as new.  Well, at least back then it sounded good!  I never figgured that spring would actually arrive as planned and reasonably on time.  I never thought I'd be in the garage warming her up, listening to the engine purr that special purr we all know and not actually be able to swing a leg over and feel some wind in my face!
So, two weeks ago I go to see the Dr. again, and all is going well says He.  Come back again in two months.  Two months!
But, he never said "No riding".  Yea, he never actually said I could ride, but he never said I couldn't either.  Thats gotta be ok, right?  I mean, if he REALLY didn't want me to ride, He'd say so, right?  He knows, KNOWS, I ride.  So he'd say no, right?
I dont really have to wait two more months, do I?
I cant take it any more!

Well you could do "physical therapy" on the shoulder. Pull the bike out of the garage , K turn, move it around and put it back....repeat. The most workout I get is when I have to jockey my ride out of the garage. Once in motion she practially steers herself. If you can master this go for it. If not repeat daily  building yourself back up until you can do it.

I wish you luck.

That you pay the doctor means that he is contracted to you and thus his recommendations are advisory in nature.

It's your body and your mind.  Whenever a doctor says you shouldn't ride immediately ask him how much experience he has in riding and healing.

Get your leg over the saddle and get down the road.  Life is too short to take bad advice.
