Batesville is right off of I-74. Around 30 miles from Cincinnati and around 70 miles from Indianapolis.

I'm going to work for a company that makes hospital beds.

Really didn't want to leave the DFW area, but right now engineering jobs are scarce in this area.

Ok, Batesville. I believe they also make caskets. At least your close to alot of good riding. Brown Co Ind, Mammoth Cave Ky, etc. L-ville is a good town to, spent a wild weekend there a few years ago!   Cheesy Hopefully the Ind State ride in will take place again, it will be a way to meet others.

When are you heading up here? I'm a 100 miles NE of Indy.

Watch out for this guy - he's a real troublemaker.   Evil

NAH - he's actually the president of the DFW chapter and a good friend.  You Indiana riders will enjoy meeting and riding with Godfire and Sly, his beautiful child bride who has her own bike.

Yes, Batesville is home of Batesville Caskets. Looking forward to the good roads. The DFW area has some OK roads, but it's at least two hours to any good riding.

I'll be up there in a couple of weeks. Probably take a month or so to get the Valk up there.

100 miles NE of Indy isn't too far, maybe we can do some ridding this spring!  cooldude

I got to looking on the map and I was thinking I-64 but then realized 74 was alot further north. So technically your directly south of me. I'm up near Ft Wayne. You are pretty close to a few riders. Dave Weaver who frequents the board and Ghostrider is a short ride north of you. He rides a HD and a good guy. Kit and I work in Indy during the summer at the 500 race events and we usually have a meet and greet at Hooters every year. Next one will be in May. Ride on up and meet a few riders. Watch out for jabba.  Wink

Fudgie is right about some good roads in the Batesville area. I live in Ft.Wayne & I like to ride to Batesville for lunch occasionally. There are some good roads North of there to Connersville, also Rte 62 NorthEast from Madison. After you get settled in maybe some of us from "up North" can come down for a "grip & grin" and do some riding.

If I'm correct, you're about an hour from the Greenwood Gang, also - Jabba, and vanagon40, and there might be others. Puts you about 2 1/2 hours from me.

As for Ft. Wayne - my daughter started college there, this year. I have made a few trips, but none on the bike, yet. DID get my windshield up there, though. And did see a really nice dark green and ivory tourer out of the corner of my eye, once.

There are quite a few Valks in Indiana. Of course, a HELL of a lot of HD's, also...

I was JUST there Sunday.  Wishin' I was with the Natchez group...

I rode indy, Austin, Madison, Vevay, Patriot, Rising Sun, Aurora, then up 350 thru Milan, Osgood and Napoleon, then home thru Greensburg and Shelbyville.

I love the Ohio River loop.

He need not watch out for me... I ride good.  Shoot straight.  Help eliminate the forest rats for my fellow bikers. I was pretty close to batesville.  We ride thru bloomington, story, and that area a lot.

Welcome man.

You do any huntin'?

I am not too far from Batesville, and what do ya mean ride together next year.  Contrary to what you southerners may think, we can and do ride up here through at least mid-November.  Some winters I have even ridden at some point in every month.  I have NEVER put a bike up for the whole winter.  There are also a lot of active members on the Ohio board not too far from you.  Check out the Ohio BBS and let them know you will be moving close-by.  Let us know when you are settled and we'll try to get together.

Hey Dave,
Ride next year wasn't about the winters. Just not sure how soon I'll get the bike up there. I'll be in an apartment while the wife sells the house in Texas.  In this market it could take some time.
But as soon as I can I will have the Valk in Indiana!
Look forward to meeting everyone.

Hey Godfire, i will be about 30 mins. north of you in Connersville. Really nice roads in this area for riding all year, We are not scared of a little cold weather. Fudgie was right about me riding an HD, so you will have to ride slow so i can keep up. So when you get settled and ready to ride shoot me an e-mail or something and i will show you around. Oh and yes i miss my Valkyrie, nothing rides like one.

welcome ,  Godfire  plenty of good riden roads in Ind.
Sounds like we need to have another Hoosier state ride in
like we used to years ago . Hoosier Daddy used to get us all
     together in the fall.
Plenty of Valks in the state just kinda scattered around
I'm up north in Fudgie's territory.

I could go for that.  I'm already missing CBR this year.  I hated missing the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum ride in June, but had other plans for that weekend.

French Lick would work for me too.

I live in the Columbus Ohio area.  I like to ride to SW Ohio at times.  Lets meet up at some point.  There is a Pappadeaux Seafood in northern Cincinnati.  Im sure you know about that chain.  May cure homesickness.  I lived in Houston for a while.

I guess that would be the HillRom Company. Visited Batesville a couple of times for training on the TotalCare and the VersaCare Beds. Love the little town and the surrounding area. There is a little German town outside Batesville that has some real nice pubs. There is one guy who works there rides a Valk his name is Bill Walsman. His brother Scott use to have a Valk but sold it a few month back. Scott's wife works there her name is Luann. Scott runs a shop a few miles out of town if you need any work done on your Valk. Have fun may be we will get to share the wind some day soon.

Freeatlast, Scooby and I are in SW Indiana, near Evansville.  I think Hoosier Daddy is down in this area too.  French Lick is about a 2 hr ride for us, about the same to Louisville, KY.  3 hours from Indy.

Fudgie, you and Kat still planning to come down for HogRocktober??  It's only 2 weeks away.

Forgot all about it.  She starts a new job on monday, finally, after being without since June. Sturgis tapped us out this year. She said it was my fault! Gonna hit the Ohio River ride tho.
