Joe , I've had three good friends in Motorcycle accidents in the last month. One in critical care now in a drug induced coma. I was 30 min. ahead of him on a poker run. The company I work for has a company contracted to teach volunteers first aid including CPR .We spend 8 hrs once a year in training. I have been thinking about asking the Amvets riders whom I'm a member of if they would consider doing the same. As riders we have an increased chance of being in or seeing a serious accident while out enjoying one of our favorite pastimes.

CPR is a life saver for sure ( I'm walking proof ) But being an organ donor is another awesome way to save a life. In KS your drivers license has a place to sign on the back to be a donor. If I am not using them I guess some one else might as well P.S. you probably wouldnt want my liver...

Good post Joe. Az is the leader in this stuff. More people are more likely to do chest only compressions then they were when you had to suck face. CPR changes all the time and we gotta keep updated. Now its called CCR. Its definitly backwards now then it was when i was taught. I've had 3 saves in my 10 yrs, 2 which CPR was started by the time they hit the ground. Its gonna be my new ink in a few months.

I know we packed plenty of sawdust back in after the accident to cushion his brain, it might be salvageable, especially with the low miles he puts on it. The way he talks his lungs must be in pretty good shape. The guys does have a heart of gold though, I'll give him that much.

+1 CPR is great and saves some lives, but it isn't magic. I highly encourage everyone to go through a good first aid course and refresh their knowledge at least every other year.

Some things are bigger than us. Learn CPR/CCR. Donate blood if you can. Organ donation is the Lord's work. God Bless.
