We just got home from Tennessee, now I see why It's referred to as God's Country. Wow, what a Beautiful state, stunning landscape, from Mountains to Valleys to rivers and lakes, just georgious We did some zip-lining in Townsend. My wife, Andrea Then set out for Clingmans Dome, highest elevation in Tennessee. I think it was 6200 feet, hope I got that right Higher than the 300' highest elevation if the Florida Flatlands. We saw this log carver along the way. Something we don't see in Florida. Beautiful Country, we were lucky to have great visibility, from what I'm told it's usually hazy and foggy. We didn't see any of that.

Tundra I definitely agree with you, Tennessee (the eastern part in particular) is absolutely beautiful. The people are some of the bravest and most honorable people that I have ever met in my life. That having been said, 13 hours after I retire I will be right back down near you in south Florida so I will never ever have to freeze my as* again during one these cold winters!

I was definitely thinking of you guys, unfortunately my work has been crazy lately and it is hard for me to get away right now. From talking to Mac it sounds like you had an outstanding turnout and great weather. If not for the unfortunate deer mishap, it sounds like it might have been one of the best rides of the year. You do the great state of TN proud!!

I ride year round too! I have heated gear as of last year and what a difference they make! Now I enjoy riding Tennessee all year! Bernie

Thanks for sharing your pictures! It looks like you had a great time. I've been to Tennessee before, but not since I got my Valkyrie. It looks like I need to plan a trip down there sometime soon!

WOW, Tundra. you actually got to Clingman's Dome on a clear day / been there a dozen times or more and found clear weather only a few times. And East Tennessee/Western NC is the best riding in the world. We like it so much we bought a house over in Tellico Plains just so we have a comfortable place to stay when we're there. Maybe we'll retire there some day when Florida gets too hot and the water rises into our front yard since we're only a few blocks from the Manatee river. Florida is the opposite of Tennessee's Dragon with 318 curves in 11 miles / Florida has 11 curves in 318 miles.

Lived next door in SW VA for 18 years. I knew I liked it - but didn't know how much until I moved away. I can only hope to end up there (or some place just like it - if that exists) someday. Sure do miss the mountains.
