Selling for Health reasons;;;;; I`m sorry but that in most cases is a come-on. Why don`t sellers tell it like it is ! IE, I want to sell this because I need the Money, Because I can`t afford to pay for it, Because I bought it to re-sell. I went to look at a V65 in a town near by that the seller stated he was in such poor hearth that he could not ride anymore. That SOB could kick my ass and two more with me. I guess I`m from the old school," tell it like it is. Ben Franklin said " BE WHAT YOU ARE WHERE EVER YOU ARE"

I'm just wondering what you did to make him kick your, and your two buddy's asses.   Grin  If you didn't like the bike why didn't you just walk away?   crazy2

I do know what you mean, but some of them may be marginally sincere.  It's amazing what rationalization the human mind goes through when attempting to make an easy decision for the wrong reasons.   Wink

What kind of V65?  I've got a deal going on an 85 sabre V65 in Ky also.  Supposed to get it next week.  College guy selling this one.  I guess his health is OK.  I guess I'm a softie but the "health" come on gets me.  Hate to see people suffer.  But if it is false, grrrrrr.

I always pretend I'd just as soon KEEP whatever it is.  "I don't know that I REALLY want to sell it anyway..."

That gets me ASKING price a lot more often IMO.

Some could use it to help sell faster, a buyer may feel bad for them and take it. I see alot here at work. 'I dont have money for my meds', but do for my smokes and big screen with cable. Hell I dont have cable!  crazy2

In the wild, predators prey on others "with health issues".

I wonder if there is a direct correlation between what nature does and selling a bike.

No need for apologies.... nothing wrong with a few drinks or your point of view. This world be a better place if people would be honest and up front, well at least it would be a good start you still can't fix STUPID

I can certainly understand why some would sell for honest health reasons.  I swore that riding was over for me when I first arrived at Inzane this year (no, I didn't ride there)  My knees couldn't be trusted.  When I left, I felt much better.
As  I  age, apparent health seem to fluctuate, I speak from experience!

I sold my Nighthawk on consignment when I came back because the doc said my right knee was bone on bone. It doesn't hurt now so who knows what's next.   Maybe riding again? ,  crap, I don't know Cheesy

1. You must be one HELL of a doctor, knowing exactly any and all health problems a person might have , merely by looking at him. When is your practice open? I'd like to come and see you, as I take 12 meds, to keep me alive, but you probably wouldn't guess it, by looking at me, or seeing me work. I'm sure you know LOT'S more than MY doctor, and could teach him a few things...

- just how many "bad health" bikes do you look at in a day? 20? 30?? I'd have to guess that it's a whole bunch, since "in most cases it's a come-on".

Sorry for the sarcasm. I just hate blanket statements. My wife had knee replacement two years ago. Had to sell her beautiful HD 1200 Skirtster, that she had waited for all her life. You wouldn't know SHE couldn't ride anymore, except a little tiny scar on the knee. She hasn't been on a bike, either by herself, OR behind anyone else, since! It was hard to see her sell her bike, but it went to a good friend's wife. She had owned a bike almost continuously, since buying her first one, with her own money, when she was 12.

Your just lucky SHE isn't on the forums -  she wouldn't have been quite so nice...

In Don's defense you can tell you is pulling the wool over your eyes. I see it almost all the time. We have a few drug seekers, fakers, and those with psuedo-seizures. Its easy to tell cause what they say do not fit their appearance. But then again they are fun to play with. Its amazing how many people act straight when you shove a ammonia capsule up there nose or shove a small tube up their nose!  2funny

Don.

Problems? I don't have any problems...And you can't get on my last nerve. I'm just sorry that the person got on yours...and turned you bitter about EVERY person who sells their stuff, for "bad health".

But, honestly, you can't know for sure that someone can until he actually does

Willow, you are right.  Roll Eyes But when I saw this fellow put the V65 Magna on the center stand with one hand I knew he was one strong guy.  Wink

Admittedly, I wasn't there. But I also know that you can't equate "strength" with "health". Strong people drop dead, every day. My father was a pillar of strength, until a week before he died. But he was in poor health for the year before, and had quit riding. He gave me his GoldWings. I also have a buddy that lost his Pilot's Medical, or whatever they call it, because of the medicine he was taking. Although he is "healthy" enough to fly, someone, someplace, decided that the meds he is on, renders him incapable of piloting an aircraft. After waiting 50 years to get his license.

Many riders ride trike's, because their health doesn't allow them to trust themselves riding solely on two wheels.

You insinuated in your first post, that "Selling for Health reasons;;;;; I`m sorry but that in most cases is a come-on.". MOST cases? That's what I have to question...MOST??? And, that merely by looking at him, you could tell he WASN'T in poor health?

It's one thing to have opinions. It's another thing to bring those opinions here. And it's yet ANOTHER thing, to not expect to have those opinions questioned, by other people's opinions...

Sadly, I know more than a couple of Valk riders on this forum that because of having a handicap card and plate, have received everything from lip service to a key job done to them. If only my friends had known that the Medical Police were out and plotting revenge against these obviously healthy motorcyclists.

Walkure, I`m sorry I stated you had problems but,,, That is a quote from your first post. 12 meds to keep you alive ??? That is some sort of a problem I would think.
It appears you want to pick a fight, but I`m here to tell you that you are beating a "DEAD HORSE"
