99 Interstate, the right front speaker makes a pop whenever the radio is turned on, or if the radio is already on, when the ignition is turned on. According to the meter, I'm pulling in Am & FM stations, I can see the stereo indicator come on when I tune in a local station, but nothing is coming out of the speakers, no matter Am, FM, or iPod on Aux. I've checked all the fuses, and the blue & green connectors look good, but there's not anything coming out of the speakers, even though the volume says it's going up and down. Has anyone had a similar issue? it seems to me like the amplifier is not working, amy suggestions and ideas are welcome, thanks!

Well, lets start with the stupid questions first, then others will better be able to help you out.

You mentioned that speakers go "pop" when turned on (key or power button). Volumn control goes up/down.

Now the stupid questions.

Did it ever work?

Do you have the head set turned on (intercom switch, a headset in your display on the right side top, it's the far right lower switch, up intercom, down speakers)?

Thanks, Gordon, It worked when I dropped it off at the shop to have the trunk mounting bracket repaired a couple of weeks ago. It's not on headset, I got out the manual & made sure it was set up properly. My repairman checked the fuses for me. It's just dead. Last year the problem was the fuse in the little side holder.

in my experience a pop like that usually means a bad ground somewhere.

i'd try unplugging the radio, speakers and all and plug it all back in(you know clean the contacts)
and then go from there.
