NOT what you are thinking..... and shame on you!

Two boys were riding thier bikes down the road. They waved and started riding hard down the street. I stopped at the stop sign, gave them a nod. Then launched her hard for 2 gears. Cool to look back and see them excited.  Made my day!

Not on the Valk, but on my SuperHawk.

Friend of mine and I just finished eating and were pulling out of the parking lot onto a two lane country road.  Three young guys were walking near where we were going to pull out and gave me the universal "gun it" sign.

I obliged.

That 998cc V-twin stood up on me so fast that I had already gotten the front tire back on terra firma before I realized what happened.  The slap to the back of my helmet for almost launching my passenger off the back helped bring me back to reality pretty quickly, too.

I tried explaining to her that I had no intentions of launching into a wheelie - but I don't think she believed me.

Dang, sometimes I miss that bike...  Sad

I've done it a few times with teenagers on the back- don't think they had ever experienced acceleration like that before.  I got on it with my nephew, who was already married (not a teenager anymore), and I think by second gear, he screamed.  I thought I had scared the bejeebers out of him, so I backed off.  Later I found he had just never felt that kind of acceleration before and it was a spontaneous scream of excitement and joy!

Took my girlfriends 17 year old son for a ride on the valk one day. When I got back on the highway I told him to hang on I was going to punch it. I snapped the throttle wide open with the clutch already out. I felt the front end get lite. Ran through the gears, let off when I hit 100. He was excited. My Girl Twila was not thrilled when I got back to her house. I told "He wanted me to". She still smacked me...Oh well....

Another kinda cool thing I've experienced while riding (group or solo) in Northwestern Wisconsin, is the looks on the faces of the young Amish (my assumption here) kids, as a nice group of Valks goes rumbeling by...  They will tentativly wave, as if they're not too sure, but really light up when ya give 'em a toot of the air horns...

When my boys were younger (smaller...  Now they are 250 lbs for the 22 year old, and 275 lbs for the 18 year old) I would take them on short rides...  My youngest just couldn't keep his mouth shut, when it came to telling mom about the speeds we would hit, while using an on ramp...  He's my gear head, and lives for 'fast'...  My oldest is a gas n go kinda guy, and never really showed much interest in riding street, but both boys love their 4Wheelers.

Just when the highway straightened out for a mile
And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...

Before going to the darkside  I had two kids holler at me to nail it. You can imagine my surprise as the backend went up in smoke and the bike started into a slight fishtail. After I got controll of the bike I made a u-turn and saw a long black strip with a slight twist to it. I also pulled the frontend up once while the wife was riding on the back, as I hit second hard the wheel lifted every so slightly before I backed off and set the front back down. She thought it was cool but said don't do it again.
