Have a 97 Valk that has mobile 1 syn as the oil the previous owner has used. I have always used castrol 20w50 regular oil in all my other bikes. Do you guys see any problem in switching to the castrol in the valk. Been to both walmarts locally and auto zone also, and no one has the mobile 1.......

Should be no problem.  I use Rotella T 15W 40.  One gallon at Walmart is $12.00  Works well in my valks and BMW.

20w50 is more suited to v twins.....I would stick with 10w40 as recommended on p 3-9 of the shop manual for the widest range of ambient operating temperatures.

ambient temp 100+ and running hwy speeds 70+ for extended time 20w50 per manual.
otherwise use a Heavy Duty Engine Oil (HDEO) 15w40 or 5w40.
www.bobistheoilguy.com  check MC sections and used oil analysis (UOA) section.

I use an HDEO from Amsoil 10w30/30 HD. I posted oil an analysis a few wks ago. Also dave frisco has posted UOA for royal purple.
