...Or at least it seems to be. Seems that Harley's are not holding their value as they once did.

It's supply and demand....The market is flooded with them ...Look at any classifieds ,E-Bay , Cycle Trader etc. they out number other brands 3 to 1 or better in the "FOR SALE " section.I've read several articles that claim the used Harley market is alive and well it's the new ones that nolonger move off the showroom as in years past.Honda -Kawasaki - Suzuki - Yamaha sales are down this year as well....

New motorcycle sales saw a 20.9 percent drop in first quarter of 2010, but the combined motorcycle and ATV sales drop of 23 percent over the same period was less precipitous than 2009's first quarter plummet of 37 percent. Also encouraging was March's year-to-year drop in motorcycle sales of 4.6 percent; though that figure reflects a 13.3 percent dip in scooters sales, it also reflects a 7.6 percent gain in off-highway motorcycles. On-highway motorcycle sales fell from 42,042 units to 39,107, a drop of 7 percent.

I do like the new wider tire on the FL's though.

It's a 200 and that beats the 140/90 of the 3.5 inch rims of yesteryear,.

AMC bikes never would have flooded the market because so many of them didn't last. If the market is flooded then it must mean that their product has improved (despite so many jokes to the contrary). Interesting.

Man after my own heart! Grin

There are more of us that have a Harley and  a Valk than I would have expected when I first got on the board. I'll NEVER get rid of either of mine.

I had both for a while but with 2 kids in college, I knew I could only keep one.  I ended up selling my Interstate, my Electra Glide had a much more comfortable seating position for me.

If I had the money, I would have a garage full of bikes.

That Road King is a police issue. It is not a "Low Price", especially in the Orlando area. Floridas ecomomy is almost as bad as here in MI. and prices of used bikes are a reflection of the economy of the area in which it is selling.

If someone wants to buy my Rat Rod Valk, please make me an offer of 20K or better.
That is just a dream, just like a 10K Road King.

But P.T.Barnum said it best "there is a fool born every minute".
