What happened to immigrants assimilating to our laws and our way of life. They screw up their country and then they come over here and they want to screw up ours? I'm sorry but we have screwed it up enough already we don't need them helping us. This is opening a can of worms.

Thanks for the posting.  You know you could likely be on a hit list by the aforementioned religion?

If you get in their way of turning our country into the country in which  they came you're a target.

I think the department of immigration needs to halt immigration from countries that have active terrorist cells or their immigrants are likely to not mix in well in America.

My old High School, Fordson High in Dearborn MI is the first American public school that is now under Sharia Law. The principal has tried (sucessfully) to eliminate all non-muslim or Arabic teachers, and has encouraged muslim students to harass and disrupt the classes being taught by non-arab teachers. Only muslim holidays are observerd, and during Rhamadon football practice was held on after midnight. This principal had cancelled the school prom due to Sharia law forbiding sleevless gowns for girls and certain interactions between the boy/girl dancing.

This has prompted several non-arabic teachers to sue the schoolboard for harrassment, however the schoolboard has more arab members than non-arabic members.

Last year during a football game between Fordson and Dearborn High, the Fordson players attacked and beat up and destroyed instruments of the Dearborn High Marching Band. This malee was prompted by the Fordson football coach.

Fordson High is now banned from playing their crosstown rivals, Dearborn High.

I am ashamed to admit that i was a Fordson graduate, my wife is a graduate of Dearborn High.

Luckily it was overturned, but how about the New Jersey judge that wouldn't issue a restraining order against a man that had raped his wife because they're both Muslim, and thus it's impossible for a husband to rape his wife under that religion?

this is according to our religion. You are my wife, I c[an] do anything to you. The woman, she should submit and do anything I ask her to do.

I'm glad the initial ruling was overturned, but it scares me that a sitting judge would even THINK of making it in the first place! Since it's impossible for a husband to rape his wife in the Muslim faith, the man wasn't a rapist, because it wasn't rape in his mind...  tickedoff

The idea of assimiltion is dead!

My parents immigrated to this country in the early fifties from an area of the world now known as Croatia. Both my parents were of German decent and my grandparents were killed in the Nazi death camps. Both my parents lost everything they ever owned when Marshall Tito came into power after WWII.

Mother lived in Dearborn MI, and my Father lived in Mattawan NJ. My parents met in Cleveland OH during a mutal family get together.

Being that my parents spoke a german dialect, that is all I spoke when I started school. I remember both of my parents going to Citizenship, American history, government, and english language classes. They tried their hardest be the best new citizens they could.

They taught us right from wrong, respect for others, but they wanted us to be proud to be Americans. By that, it meant to think for yourselves, never take anything at face value and to always Question Authority.

We will talk about this (because it sounds good to us to be "tough") but...we will not stop it.

You'd think the ACLU would be all over this First Amed. violation.
What's funny is, a foreigner (resident alien) recently told me that, "We need the Klan more than ever".
Between the Muslims importing their goofy ways and all of Latin America importing their different narco gangs, you'd wonder who was holding the door open for them.

This B.S. didn't fly even in "liberal" Minnesota.  Now taxi drivers who refuse to carry passengers who are "cross gender", carry alcohol, dogs, etc are subject to a 30 day suspension of license on the first offense and a two year suspension upon the second offense.

Furthermore:
Celestica (an electronic company in St Paul, MN) was sued  by 20+  employees for religious discrimination.   The discrimination was about their right to prayer, the Muslim employee's wanted to pray up to five times a day, walking off of the assembly line whenever they had to pray. Part of their demands were a floating break schedule to flucuate with the sun, amongst other times. Celestica tried very hard to accomodate these employees even asking them what time they wanted their break set to. They could not be accomodated, because they wanted a different time each day, to float with a different sunset time each day. This would cause mass confusion in a plant that had approx 180 employees per shift. Recently word came that Celestica won the case on all counts.

The employers many times are held hostage by the liberal court systems and the religious fanatics that are unbending in their pursuit to have their way, whatever their cause.  A consistent and determined resistance to Sharia needs to be maintained if we are to avoid assimilation to Muslim culture over the long term.

My fear is that there are American Citizens who see/read of example after example of other nations and societies who are or are becoming over taken by muslim communities where Sharia law is practiced full throttle.  These same American Citizens are now being presented with example after example of how Sharia law is being practiced here at home and is making it's way through the lower courts (eventually to make it through 1, then 2, then 3 higher courts).  Yet these same American Citizens mock those who are concerned, label them racists, and say that this won't happen here.  I just don't get it.

My wife works with a woman, in her 40's, who must submitt to her husbands every demands.  This woman never smiles and is frail.  My wife and other colleagues have begged her to seek help, have offered her a home if she leaves.  She continues to refuse the offers for fear of her life.  My wife and I have had several conversations about this and we agonize over whether we can or should report this and try to help her.  It keeps coming down to the realization that we could actually cause her death if we do report it.  The ladies at work had contacted her oldest son and they were told very politely to mind their own business for her safety's sake.  Heaven help the son's wife.

I thought the law is the law.  If murder was permitted under sharia law, and a muslim commited murder in the US, would they not be tried under US law?  What needs to happen is our laws need to be enforced, WITHOUT regard to race, religion, social/political standing, or national origin.

I think the confusion here is between endorsing and accommodating a religion.  The US government has a long history of accommodating religious people.  This isn’t the same as endorsement.  The biggest example is having Christmas day a legal holiday.  The US government accommodates Christians on this day since the majority wouldn’t work that day anyway.  The US courts recognize and are closed during major Jewish holidays for the same reason.  When a school rearranges its schedule to accommodate a large majority’s religious beliefs, that is also accommodation.

The argument that a school or government entity has been taken over by religious laws simply because they accommodate religious people doesn’t hold water.  If the school FORCED everyone to pray 5 times a day, then it would endorse a religion.  If a school required women to wear a burqa, that would be endorsement.  Likewise, if boys were forbidden from cutting the hair at their temples, that would be endorsement.  I can site many more examples, but you should get the idea.

Skinhead,

You live in Troy, not Dearborn. Here in Dearborn one is expected to respect "Political Correctness" and not rock the muslim boat.

I remember after 9/11, I and some of our neighbors put the American Flags on our houses. The police came door to door and asked us to please take down the flags as it may imflame our Arab neighbors.

It is a shame that new immigrants are not expected to assimilate into our American society. My parents did and it wasn't easy for them, but this was their new homeland and they respected what Democracy means.

I wanted to move to Rochester Hills but we just can't afford to give our house away.

It would be a cold day in hell when I would take down The US flag for any reason, especially to not inflame a bunch of arabs!  Ihave posted many times on similar topics and it seems that there is a minority that doesn't get it.  This is the US of A, if you want to live here, you are welcome, but abide by OUR laws, do not ask us to recognize laws from your shite hole country that you left to have a better life here.

How do they get away with this stuff.

All of this is a result of acting like, and allowing ourselves to be the "silent majority" for many years.   Embarrassed

It's still amazing that the rights of a few always supercede the rights and desires of many. I hate to say this, but it will never be the way it used to be.  Embarrassed Cry tickedoff
