I know that times a hard for most of us now. But if you think back to the 70s they were hard then too. At least from what I can remember.

When you come to the fork in the road, take it Yogi Berra (Don't send it to me C.O.D.)

Carly Simon always had that unique voice that you could identify within a couple seconds of hearing it, in a Stevie Nicks sort of way. Not to mention that she was very easy on the eyes! Here is one my favorites of hers.....

" those were the good ol' days" That was certainly true for me. I had been out of the Navy for two years and was in school at Univ of TX @ Austin. Great times, great place - - life was good. Also, did you notice how well the audience behaved in the video. Not a bunch of knuckleheads standing up, waving their arms, forcing everyone to stand up like they do today. Good Times!!

I was born in 1953.
I grew up listening to real Rock & Roll, Motown, the English Invasion Music, and Pyshidelic music.
I went to Woodstock.
I learned about Disco in Europe before it hit our shores.
But in my music collection I have a majority of American artists:James Taylor, Joe Walsh, Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne, Lynard Skynard, Marshall Tucker, Comander Cody, REO Speedwagon, and Jimmy Buffet.
I' getting into true Bluegrass, Cajun music and Zydecco recently
I also like English blues bands like John Mayal, Eric Clapton, Blues Magoos, Savoy Brown.
Ones music tastes can vary if you can find the best performers, with true soul.

I feel really, really old here. My best musical memories were of the Big Bands like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and others with singers like Vaughn Monroe, Frances Langford, The Andrew Sisters, Mills brothers, etc. Country music singers like Hank Snow ( Golden Rocket, that's where my email addy came from), Eddie Arnold, Patsy Cline, the original Hank Williams, etc. I won't talk about what came later as I plead total ignorance. I liked some, some I didn't. Today, I don't listen to Gloom and Doom Country, hard rock, Rap, Hell no!, etc. My pet gripe today is loud music at social events like banquets, etc. I absolutely do NOT understand why loud music should drown out conversations which is what meet and greet banquets are about. I guess I'm just an old geezer.

1978 and Gas Hit the Crazy Price in Tn. of get this 79 cents a Gallon. My Hippie Van a 1978 Short Wheel Base Chevy, got almost 12 miles per gallon. Until 1974 the only music i heard was from Dad's Stereo and that was pure country gold. Led Zeppelin and ZZ Topp first caught my ear. As rock invaded my life. Still get the cold chills when listening to this number by ZZ.

Born in '56. First concert was Led Zepplin at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. I was in 7th grade and rode the street car down town with some friends for the concert. Smelled like a rope factory was on fire and the girls on the floor were on their boyfriends shoulders, taking off their bras and throwing them up on stage. I figured then and there, the 70's were gonna be fun.

I guess I'm just an old geezer. Good music is good music, no matter when it was played. Most of my music is similar to Momz, but I always enjoy the big band sounds. My dad used to play them and I always enjoyed it when he did. That stuff is fun to listen to, and a lot of it is great mood music!
