I saved the xm tuner from my wrecked '99 Standard and I'd like to hook it up to the acc on the ignition switch on my new Interstate so it will power up with the stock radio when I turn the key to acc.  I did a search but could'nt find much. Is there a diagram, do I need a relay or anything for a small device like that, etc?  Thanks in advance, Bill

I have XM on my interstate. You need a 1/8 male to male cord from radio shack to plug to the aux jack of the bike (under right side cover). I hard wired the power plug adapter up under the fairing pull power from a wire under there that was hot with key in either run or acc postion. Sorry I can't remeber color. I use a 12 volt probe to test wires until I found one. I ran the attena up front in the ventarea of the fairing and use 3M tape to mount it to fairing. No relay is needed as XM only used about 5 volts of power after the adapter. Hope this helps.

ok, thanks, I have that done, now I need to find the radio power wire and tap into that because the radio comes on in the ignition switches acc. position. I couldn't find any other wires that are hot in just the acc position.

Under the right side cover there's a pair of connectors that are on a 5 amp acc fuse. If you can run wires back there, the ignitioned source is already available.

Sandy the acc power is only on when the ign is on
not in the acc position.
Like was mentioned before you will have to find a hot wire
in the fairing for radio or tap into the fuse for radio under right
side cover for radio. Use your probe to find one that is hot
in the acc position.

Yep, I just want the xm to come on when the radio does with the ignition switch in the acc. position. I'll try to find a wire that is hot in the acc position. I was kind of hoping for an existing diagram or something. I think the fuse area would be easiest to tap into. Electrical and wire stuff is sure not one of my strong points

One of the wires that is in the large plug at the back of the display is what your looking for. Un plug the plug using a volt meter or test light  you'll be able to find the wire your looking for. Turn the ign to acc and start probing.

You want the lt green/black wire that's in the 20 pin white connector going to the LCD/Meter assy.  The other option is either the lt green/black wire or the red wire at the radio main relay under the seat (either one will work).
