Last time I put on a new front tire (70,000 Tourer) I measured my rotors and found that I was right at the 4mm minimum thickness. After pricing new rotors (Yikes!) I ordered the 1800 Gold Wing rotors as replacements, but have been waiting until I needed to change out the front tire again to replace the rotors. I have heard that some are using the rear brake pads on the front, since they are thicker. Also, the Interstate rear brake pads are cheaper than the Standard/Tourer pads.

Given that the Gold Wing rotors new are .5mm thinner than the new Valkyrie rotors, will the nice thick cheap Interstate rear brake pads fit in the front?

sometimes the rear pads have a different coefficient of friction compared to the front pads. meaning the rear ones will not grip/stop as well as front pads so the rear wheel doesn't lock up as easy. something to look into.
I posted some info and links earlier this yr. try a search.
