And what point is fuzzy2stupid trying to make? That he is a religious bigot? That he is too stupid to understand the nuances and complexities of Islam? Or that he is merely an crap artist, trying to create a rise out of people... OK, you got me... with nonsensical rantings. America needs a lot less of people like you, fuzzy2bucks... and you aint worth one buck.
There you go again SE, responding to a post you do not agree with with name calling. Why can't you respond with facts instead, I guess social skills aren't high on your list huh. ??? As soon as you spout off like that people shut down to your response even if is valid, you seem book smart, so try going back at them using that instead, maybe people would listen to you, but that may take some time. Also SE, if I remember correctly you don't live in the US of A so you really have no idea what is going on here. Oh, you read it online, maybe get some info from your Democratic socialist friends but you can't get a feel for what is really happening. People are fed up and people are scared. We are fed up with government getting bigger and bigger and wanting to "take care" of it's citizens. If you know history that is when the problems arise, serious problems. We are fed up with government trying to spend our way out of this mess and just making it worse. We are fed up with politicians playing us against each other to take the focus off of them. We are fed up with them lying to us just so they can continue stealing. This goes for all political parties, not just one. We are also scared. We are scared that the way of life as Americans is coming to an end and we don't know what that means. We don't want to be like Europe, that's a failing experiment. We are scared because this President was the most non-vetted President in history and he was pushed into office by a compliant media that ignored, intentionally, facts that should have made him unelectable. We are scared because the machine that is at work now is big and we're not sure we can stop it. We are scared because our kids and grand kids may not have the an America to call home and they will ask us why we didn't do anything about it. We may be scared but we are not afraid. We are not afraid to stand up and say that this is wrong. We are learning what it is we have to do. We have woken up out of our slumber and are figuring out how to fight back. We will make mistakes, we are human, but we will not lie down any longer and allow our country to be taken from us. So SE, are you with us or are you against us. Are you for an America that is a shining light on a hill, or do you want to see her tumble into the darkness. I choose to stand and say no more. I will defend this country first with words, a peaceful revolution if you will, and if that fails, God help us because then comes the inevitable.

As with most class clowns, if ignored they quit acting out. I don't read his posts nor respond to one of his posts. If nobody reads them, he'll see that big fat zero in the column, and know that nobody gives a rat's ass what he thinks or says. Until this thread, I hadn't even noticed he posted in the first place. Guess I won't go looking for his post anyway. Waste of time and pixels

I have realized that he (s/e) thrives on the turmoil he creates here. He is an absentee citizen (but he can't prove that) who does not comprehend what is actually going on in our country (I actually do not believe he cares because he certainly does not understand). It is best for the board members to ignore him completely. Responding to his posts (which are based on no first hand knowledge on his part of the mood or conditions in the US) only allows him to continue his diatribe. Ignore the SOB completely. But remember, he is part of a movement that will strengthen it's members- which I say, is total BS. Look at what he has learned from it! "New Warrior" my backside! His "inner journey" serves his own opinions based on lack of knowledge. He does not respect others, ... so he gets no respect from me.

This thread gave me pause. Who is SE? What's going on? So I figured it out, then read some of his posts as a result. Don't mean to rock the rapidly-filling bandwagon, but what I saw was an intelligent, very informed dude with little patience for mouth-breathing. Thus the occasional sharp tongue (or keyboard) retort. I wish that (many) more people were as aware of the world around them, of the forces that manipulate it for us and of the bigger picture. The proverbial can of worms is usually opened by others and he jumps in. It's just a debate, after all. Opposing views being expressed and discussed. Gah! Let's "chill", as my kids say...

There is nothing wrong with spirited debate. There is however a problem when you refuse to respect the people that you are debating with. I was on the debate team in high school and the one point that I remember being stressed often, is that the moment that you begin to call your opponents "Names" you have LOST the debate. As a General Rule a person involved in a debate only begins the name calling process because they realize that they have lost and are attempting to divert attention away from that fact. IN SE's case he seems to come out of the gate with the name calling process. Perhaps this is because he has no confidence in his ability to win a debate any other way.

A quick check of the police and news reports of this incident shows this person was detained by security and arrested by police for assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass. Apparently he was protesting on private property (owned by Alaska State Fair, Inc.) in violation of its vendor policy, which requires campaigners, or others with a political message, to rent a booth.

Let's see, How many crimes are those wannabee's guilty of: Assault and Battery Unlawful Arrest Depriving a citizen of his Constitutional Rights and those are just the ones that I can think of off hand. I would like to know the outcome of this story. Yes the guy was loud but he was well within his rights and he wasn't threatening anyone. It seems to me That would fall under both the right to free speech and to hold a peaceful assembly. Why do you think that the Gov't wants to turn everyone into mindless sheep? It's because mindless sheep never notice that their rights have been taken away. Somehow the following seems appropriate here: First they came for the Jews and I did not speak out-- because I was not a Jew. Then they came for the communists and I did not speak out-- because I was not a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out-- because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for me-- and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Exactly who did he assault? The video clearly shows that the first physical contact was the security guard grabbing him by the arm. This makes the security guard the one committing an assault. As far as him not renting a booth, maybe so... but I'll bet money that if his poster had been in support of BO instead of against him that he would've never been bothered. If you really watch the video it is the mouthy blonde chick near the begining that spurs the security guards into doing something about the old guy. Her argument seems to be that he is disturbing some people that are selling Obama T-shirts.

He was charged with (but probably won’t be prosecuted for) Assault 4-Cause Fear Of Injury. Apparently after the security guards told him to leave, he said something or his mannerism led them to believe he was going to attack them.
<sarcasm font> Now, I know Alaska is a bastion of liberal Obama lovers (Palin, etc.), </sarcasm font> but I doubt his message is what caused the problem.

Speaking as someone who proudly has an IMPEACH OBAMA bumper sticker on his cage, and emblazoned across the windshield of his Valk, I have no problem with what happened in that video... That wasn't about protesting the anointed one, that was a simple trespassing situation. He was on private property, was asked to leave, and wouldn't.
Just like if someone were in my yard and I asked 'em to leave, and they didn't, then I would proceed to get medieval on them, and just like on this forum, the owner's of this forum have the right to say, for whatever reason they feel like, or no reason at all, you can't say this or that, or even ban someone from coming here if they so choose...

Alright. I’m NOT a big fan of SE. I do however enjoy looking at things from a different perspective. And, like it or not SE does offer that perspective sometimes. Now, as for his childish antics of name calling, I whole heartily disagree with. There is no better way to end an argument then to start name calling. Usually the individual that starts name calling is the person loosing the argument. It will be a sad day when persons are not allowed to voice their opinions, whether you agree, or disagree, that person should always have a right to make a fool of themselves. So, don’t be too disgusted with SE, he’s probably the kid in school that everyone picked on, now he’s got a big motorcycle, living around a bunch of small, short Asians, sticking out as the big white American that he is…….
See, I can say all that, without name calling…….

Looks like the guy shouldn't complain about the price of pot anymore!! Seems to me like the guy he bought his dope from turned him in. It’s hard to say he didn't deserve the search; he did by the way have a controlled substance in his house? Didn’t he? Hard to tell from the video what the whole commotion is about, but, if I had dope in my house, the kids wouldn't be there! Why would I subject my wife and children to the possibility of a search like that?
Always look at both sides of the story. As far as we know, the police may have just saved his life from years of drug abuse.

Being the “devil’s advocate” doesn’t mean advocating evil. It simply means taking an opposing viewpoint (which isn’t necessarily your own) for the sake of challenging a statement. It is a method of compelling the other person to validate what they are saying. I took alph’s post as more of a tongue-in-cheek viewpoint, than a serious statement.

It is a method of compelling the other person to validate what they are saying. I took alph’s post as more of a tongue-in-cheek viewpoint, than a serious statement. For the record, Bob, I understand the language quite well, including the metaphors and euphemisms. Please save your condescending explanations for someone who'll pretend to benefit from them.
As an aside, I couldn't care less how you took Alph's post. Now if Alph were to explain his intent I'd be interested.
