I know it's not Valk related but figures some of you guys with multiple bikes might have a wing anyway a fried of mine has an 02 that has the FI flahing a code 23 oxygen sensor.  Has anyone run into this before?  How can it be tested?  What else would cause ?  etc???  Thanks in advance.  Mike

If it says o2 sensor as long as the wire is on the sensor you need to replace it. I dont know if you know what it is but its in the exhaust and measures the fuel air mix and reports it back to the computer. The bike will run ok without it and more than likely its the o2 heater part of the 02 senor it will look like a spark plug with a wire attached. I dont know what kind it is but you may be able to go to the auto parts store and pick up a generic one at much less cost. A o2 probably doesn't have that sophisticated sensor so you should be able to hook up a volt meter and see if the voltage is between .10 volt to 1 volt depending on engine fuel mix. The only other thing that it could be is the actual fuel mixture but usually you will get a code of lean mix or engine miss. What actually happens that the fuel mix is so far off that the 02 sensor never is able to react to the change in fuel mixture so it registers a code that the sensor is bad. But as said this will usually be accompanied by other codes for lean or rich running miss so if you don't have other codes or this is for the o2 heater the sensor is bad.

Some more info go to the link and scroll down till you see the pdr with the 02 sensor

The purpose of this Service Bulletin is to provide
information to assist you in the replacement of both
oxygen (O2) sensors on affected 2001 GL1800/A
models.
Moisture in the exhaust can damage the O2 sensors.
Also, the right O2 sensor coupler can become
corroded which will result in a non-functioning
sensor.
A replacement kit that contains two new O2 sensors
is needed to repair the problem.
Only perform this procedure if the vehicle actually
experiences an O2 sensor failure.
