I attended the tech session "Anatomy of the Fat Ladies rear end" and found how easy it is to remove the rear end.  I just replaced my rear tire on my IS and found the drive shaft and yoke to be dry as a bone and the teeth half gone.  I was worried when I started to feel a vibration on decel a month or so ago but thought it was because my rear tire was cupped so bad.  It took several days to get the parts delivered, missing a few very nice, sunny days (not many left here in Michigan).  It was a simple fix and a test ride tonight felt like a new bike!!.. Thanks to the individual who taught that session, you made it very informative and took the edge off removing the rear end.  I'm glad I caught this before I was stranded or worse.  Make sure the rear end is checked with every tire change, I know mine wil bel from here on out.  Thanks again!

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Hey, if I have to be good at something...groping rear-ends is a good thing!

Thanks Daniel.....   now go wash your bike!  Grin  Just kidding!

I washed her a couple weeks ago...just before riding another 200 miles in the rain and another 500 or so in the nice cooler nights (bugs). She's back to her normal color again (dirt and bug guts).
