Sturgis. The motorcycle visitors who stand close to the buffalo with their backs turned to get the family snap.

Yellowstone. More of the same stupidity.

The mamma bear looks photoshopped to me, just doesn't quite seem right with the lighting... But I didn't do any spectral analysis of it or anything...

And yes... People really are that stupid... Go grab the movie Idiocracy... It's probably the best movie you've never heard of, and it explains the phenomenon quite well (And very humorously as well!)

I saw guys in tuxes and ladys in gown and heels go after a bear in Yellowstone.  He had just crossed the road and disapeared into the woods. Fancy fund raiser and "Oh look, theyres a bear".
They came out faster and were panicked. That was the highlight of the trip.

I came across a man in the Smokies years ago who was trying to put his 3 yr old son on the black bear's back to take a picture. I told him I would shoot him (the dad) if he tried it again. uglystupid2

Several years ago an Asian tourist in Anchorage wanted his picture taken with one of the wild moose that routinely visit the downtown area.  He hands his camera to his wife, walks over to the Moose and puts his hands on its neck.  The Moose promptly stomped him to death right in front of his family.  You can't fix stupid and it has a way of catching up to you.
