Hello,

I keep having problems with my spotlights mounted under bar that protects the motor.

Have one each side 1 mounted, originally they came with halogen spotslamps 50 watt- and an angle of 45° : too bright - you got black spots in your eyes for a couple of minutes when you looked at them.

Then changed these spots for a 3-led spot 3 Watts each spot - angle of 45° : result - more or less the same.

Ordered other 3-led spots 3,6 Watt each but with a beamangle of 20-25° : result, went for a ride this evening and had 3 - 4 cars that warned me with their lights, so again too bright?

There is a last possibility : the same spots but with an angle of 8-10°.

Anybody has the same problem, the spots are mounted to shine both inwards and they are pointing slightly to the ground - perhaps the 25° is too wide.

I went 100m away and looked at my lights, indeed , they blind me. (the light is cool light 6000 Kelvin)

Any suggestions ?

I want to dribe with those bottom lights ALWAYS on so that they see me coming

I'd say angle them down towards the road a little more.

That way, other drivers see them, but not quite so bright, and you get more light on the road at night.  Win, Win...

I have this set up with a pair from local auto parts store, 55 watt and have both aimed towards the center of the road. Left aimed slightly right and right aimed slightly left. Just came back from a night ride and was not flashed once in heavy oncoming traffic.

Ride safe.

I don't speak about my COBRA-bar lights, those with hallogen 55w. where the bulb is placed vertically in front of the lens, when I put these on then people will see nothing but dark circles for 5 minutes.

My main concern are those small bulletmarkers that I have under the motorguardbar, perhaps it is because the temperature of the light is cold (6000°K) - the beam is 20-25° and the one of the left is mounted to shine slightly to the right and vise versa.

They do not shin upwards.

What should I do ?  Order another set but then in warm white (3500°K) and a smaller angle of 8-10°, but then they cost alot of money (80 euro for the 2....)

Thanks for your feedback and ideas.

I want to be seen overday (and of course at night), that is why I intended to leave those small's all the time on)

I think I found a solution myself !

I have made a small circle (diam. 15mm +/-) out of that self-adhesing silver tape.

Glued this spot in the middle of my bulletspot-glass so that is in the center of the 3 LED's of the MR16-spot.

Now the white light is still there, but it is much less blinding.

Will go test it this evening  crazy2

The heat from the bulb light will adversely affect the sticky side and the spot will slide down the lens until it meets resistance.

What heat, RICKY-D ??

I use a 3,6 Watt 3-LED spot MR16 , that does not consume power and that does not give warmth, only TOO MUCH LIGHT. Cry
