Happy birthday, my friend!!! A word of caution here, though... At our advancing age, it's very tempting to try to 'hold on' to our youth and resist the ravages of time and the toll of more and more birthdays. Just remember, if you decide to show 'you still have it', and you elect to strut around in your speedo, be very careful when putting it on... It's a real buzz-kill if you happen to get it on backwards... but it fits anyway... (don't ask me how I know)

Thanks brothers and sisters.  That meant more to me than you will know.  I had some of my locals come by and talk to me and got some emails from them, got an ecard from Red that made me laugh and now this.  It makes me know that I am a richer man than sometimes I think I am with friends and family.

It meant a lot.

You know, it's been three years working in Africa now and popping Malarone to fight malaria - how time flys I reckon.  When I fly into the barrio known as Angola every month, sometimes I wonder if it has been a waste of 3 years or if I made any kind of difference.  Well, I got this from Miguel Joao, the local I call Cool Breeze:

"happy birth day, get more 1000 years, because you is our father."

That meant a lot as well.  Oh well, anothe trip around the sun and got to celebrate it in Africa.  The good thing was that I did not wake up with a chalk line around my body - that is always a good start to a day!  Again, thank you my friends - you make me a richer person!
