Does anybody have experience with them?  Friggin Avons are sooooo expensive!

I'm just replaceing the rear at this point.  Have a Cobra on the front.

I need a tire before the Fall Color Ride.  Any hands on info would sure help.

Thanks

When I had my Suzuki Bandit 1200 I got a " deal " on a set of Shinko.I had always used Michelin Pilot Powers up until that point...I could not wait for the Shinko's to wear out they made that bike very unpredictable and squirrelly...I sold the bike before they was toast. However " if " I had not sold the bike noway in hell would I ever installed another set of Shinko's....Don't do it is my advice and the E3 on the Valk is just as squirrelly IMO.

I guess I'm about to find out!
I have a Shinko 757 front tire ordered for the '99 from JP Cycles, $126.99 + tax delivered to my door. They were out of stock but the tire I have on the front now isn't worn out, just weather cracked quite a bit.
Gonna change it myself & balance it with Dyna-beads.
We'll see.  Smiley

I have a set of Shinko 757's on hand as hot spares for either bike (same size tire).  I initially ordered 747's, but they were discontinued and replaced with 757's.  Unfortunately I don't have any on bike experience with them.... I would say to Google it and see what you come up with.

After nearly 200 miles the Shinko Raven on the back of my ST1300 is doing fine.

That's all I can say.

I've been running the Shinko on the rear of my I/S for several thousand miles. I like them and will buy more if I can find them. I will check the mileage tomorrow.

Strider and others run the Bridgestone BT series of radial and they say they are less expensive than

some our favorite brands and you should look into them.

BattleAxe I believe is the catch phrase.

Bridgestones I ran on my ZRX1200R , and I mean I ran them hard and they stuck and wore for

a good while. Not all that expensive as say a Michelin or Pirelli.

My next back tire will be a Battleaxe.

Gotta stealer wants to sell me a rear 180/70 16 Avon Cobra for 229.00.  The same size Shinko is 142.00.  Handleing is important to me but so is cost.  Wonder if the stealer will let me take them with a bring back guarantee?

Still undecided.

That is not gonna happen.  Can I buy your lowest priced/quality tire and if I don't like them have a money back guarantee?

A friend put shinkos on his '08 Wing and rode to Washington State.  Noticed a bad vibration.  Both tires had belt separation.  He was lucky that he caught it before having a blowout on the superslabs he had been on.  Replaced both tires with E3s and sent the shinkos back to the people he bought them from.  He researched the problem and it seems that shinko has this problem with their high speed tires.  Just info that I gleened from a friend.  Use it as you wish.

Jake Wilson:  Shinko rear $119.99;  Bridgestone $128.99; Avon $188.99.  Free 3-day shipping.  Two Brothers in Lawrenceville will mount and balance for $25 if you bring in wheel and tire off bike.

I have used the Bridgestone, for the $ it performs good and lasted as long as some of the others I have tried, My $.02 try a Good Year TT, mine has 25K+, cost $100 and $25 to mount. I love it and will replace with the same.

Went out riding today..couple hundred miles of roads, some straight, some twisty (yes, we have them here in Texas too  Cool )!

My wife commented about 40 miles into the trip how much smoother and quieter the goodyear TT was compared to last tire.   This was her first ride with me since I changed rear tires.

This is number two for me.   The first on the other I/S, and had to wait a bit to change on this one, but wish I could have got back to one sooner.

I have a little over 10K on the rear Shinko and more to go. The one that I'm running is the older version 747 my understanding is that they have retooled for a new model for the Valk. I will buy another one as soon as I check out the site mention above. I have no interest in the company just like a good deal.

I pussied out and bought another Cobra.

I wanted peace of mind for the Fall Color Ride so I went with what I knew.  However, I appreciate the input and may very well change both tires to Shinko the next time around.

Thanks again....you guys are the best! cooldude
