The image below is a webcam shot from Cheaha Mountain.  If they update it in the manner i expect, the image should change here as it is updated.  Either way, I am looking forward to the event.

yea......  2funny  crazy2

actually, it's going to get worse. SEVERE stoms predicted for this afternoon and evening. Weather Channel "experts" (i use the term ....with hesitation!)....claim today could be one of the worst tornado outbreaks in years...in MS, AL, GA....

i hope they are wrong.......but they claim all the pieces could come together later today.

one place you don't want to be....when BAD weather is pounding this area....is the top of that mountain! OH WAIT, some of you already have been there....when weather was pounding the top of that mountain...at past Cheahas   Shocked     Roll Eyes

remember that year tornados and hail storms kept going all around us....and we were in the pavilions (several years ago)...and the sirens just kept going off....saying seek shelter. And there we were, partying in the pavilion.....nowhere to go..............

brings back memories for some of ya', eh?   uglystupid2  THE GOOD NEWS ....is now, we have the private lodge...complete with an INDOOR banquet room......out of the weather (IF need be)...

Yeah, I was thinkin' that webcam view looked familiar! Cheesy

The Pavillion....yep, never been to a party before where we had to sand picnic tables on their sides in some of the doorways to keep folks from blowing away.

Heck of a night on the mountain!

Craig...did you see my write up about our scouting trip? Hail on Friday night...tornado within HALF A MILE OF OUR CHALET. heavy rain. Wind. COLD....Saturday night. Same old Cheaha....IN APRIL. I'm SOOOO glad we moved back into our May time frame. In the early years of Cheaha....we always had it the first weekend in May. Then i moved it some years back into April. And EVERY year...we had "tough" weather. So last year, i moved it back into May again.

Phyllis keeps telling me i need to make an event shirt with all this crazy weather pictured on the shirt and the words "we survived Cheaha".  2funny

120 signed up....14 states....Canada.....Git-R-Done!!

(the local news showed the tornado on the web cam up top!)

I did not see your write-up, not sure how I missed it.  I do have to say, chilling a the lodge or a Chalet during a storm is very relaxing to me.  I know i am stuck there and that is fine by me!  So long as the weather is nice for the races on Sat!
