Unless your bike has had one added, I don't believe the standard or tourer came with one from the factory. Many have added a relay to take the electrical strain from the system and it has been covered extensivly on the board. (Search is your best friend!) I have an Interstate that came with relays from the factory and have never had the occasion to work on a standard. I would go to Dag's site and download the service manual. Should have the wiring schematic on that to help. Also I would look for a pinch in a wire starting near any service work I have done lately. Sometimes in replacing stuff wires get in the way and get clamped between parts. Just some ideas to try to help. Maybe someone with some experience will chime in.
