I heard a rumor that HD has suspended production of the V-Rod.
And that the 2011s were assembled from the remaining parts when production ceased.
Can any one confirm that rumor?

don't know if it's true, but it sounds like it would make sence.  honda did that with the valkyrie, made an excellent machine for a few years, then decided to quit making 'em for reasons unknown.

Dyed in the wool HD riders never really took to the V-Rod.  Guess owners felt guilty of having a foreign designed, Hi-Po engine in a bike that could be ridden past a bar and go for another 150 miles.  Cheesy

Too bad, it was quite a hotrod.  I saw a "touring" model w/ fairing and bags somewhere on the internet, could have been a nice long distance bike.

The V-Rod never really sounded, shook, or looked like a Harley, same as a Valkyrie.  Appeal to a different crowd.

If they were selling, Harley would keep making them. Same with the Valkyrie. People stopped buying them so Honda stopped making them.

Might we see that very nice V-Rod motor in another H-D?  I've heard that their current air cooled designs may not be able to meet emission standards (especially in California) in a couple of years.
