Our 16 year old Kenmore side by side is on its last legs and it's time to replace it.  We've narrowed it down to two - both bottom freezer with French doors:  Samsung RF266AERS and KitchenAid KBFS25EWMS. Anyone have experience (good or bad) with either of these particular models or any recommendations on choosing one over the other?  Anything else I should be looking at either with selecting between these two models or perhaps a different/better brand/model?

The old refridgerator will be out in the garage with the Valk while waiting for pickup so now it's Valk related (quite a stretch eh?  2funny)

TIA !!

Try to find a American Fridge and put some of us sorry ass people back to work.

You could be the one to get the ball rolling.

Just think, and this is perfect.

A guy named Bassman put America back to work.

Bassman for President.

I rode my Valkyrie 285 miles into another state and back. Today,. It was beautiful and I hope it is

 next

weekend.

Shameless Fall Color Ride Plug there.

I have this bookmarked and when i need a product i consult it to help put a American Back to work.

Sorry Bassman I don't think refrigerators are made here any more, but I could be wrong.

I was gonna toss an old upright freezer. As it sat under the carport waiting for me to make the time to load it to haul it off, I put it to use. It now stores motorcycle cleaning supplies, tie down straps, rattchet straps and the like. And it is dust free for occaisionally storing helmets and it has a lock on it.

Good luck on the search and give it a thought before you toss the old one.

Thanks for the link.  The motorcycle listing is interesting.  I am told (hear-say I know) that many of their parts are made overseas.  And another over seas brand that was built in the USA, is not shown.  My car is Asian, but it was built by Americans in Alabama.  My last new American car was assembled in Canada, and had an engine built in Korea, based on (royalties paid) a Swedish design.  Tough call to say which is better.

I just bought an LG model 25984st and love the thing. It has the french doors and a double drawer freezer on the bottom. I looked at all of the new refrigerator's and the LG was the best bang for the buck. I got it on sale at Sears for $1900. Lot of frig for the $$.

Once you decide which one you want, go to this site and price it.  I saved over $400 on a side-by-side stainless bottom freezer Maytag a few years ago when they first came out with water/ice in the door (difficult engineering when the freezer is on the bottom). They shipped it to a warehouse near our local airport where I picked it up for only $25 shipping. I think they also ship right to your door, but that is quite a bit more.  No sales tax unless you are in PA.:

We just got one just like you are talking about.
We replaced a GE with a Kenmore Elite. Yes they
are a bit pricey but I think the new ones are
much more efficent than the old ones.

they get all the scatch and dent pieces.  They also get things there that get delivered to a house and the customer decides it is the wrong color etc.   I saved enough on a refrigerator to buy a washer, and this is comparing to the sale price at your local sears store.  You get the same warranty as new, and some ar brand new.

Got a KitchenAid bottom freezer but with the full door on top...  Reason for that was that you lose a lot of door shelf room with the barn doors.  Got to choose what side the door would hinge on, when I ordered it.

Love it so far, and quiet as can be...  Even when making and dumping ice.

We also did not get the French doors due to the loss of space. Nothing wrong with one door. Make sure that you get the Freezer on the bottom though. We bought an LG several years ago and it has been flawless.  cooldude

We have a Zub zero in our home in CT that has not missed a beat for ten years. But it was almost $6,000 then (the economy was better) and is more now. The good thing about that unit is that it has two separate compressors - one for the freezer, and one for the fridge part. It keeps things from getting freezer burned. I understand some other companies make a two compressor unit as well.

Good luck and be sure to shop around. Prices vary like crazy! Sometimes Home Depot or Lowes have very good sales on major appliances.

Kenmore Elite double door bottom freezer... went gunny bag six months ago. It was only six years old. Have a KitchenAid double door bottom freezer. Same floor plan. Like the double doors for access to stuff in the doors without opening both sides. Ymmv,
