Maybe that soldier fought for the teacher's right to beat that kids azz! ?? Some time's learning is hard and sometimes it hurts..but it's all in the name of education! Smack 'em once once for the children's sake and two or three times for those who fought for it. remind Kevin that 'some gave ALL'

The freedom to be just like you or get your ass kicked isn't freedom at all. This is America, not N. Korea.
Some folks think its wrong to swear allegiance to a material object, anyhow.
Ref. Exodus 20: 4-5

Come on people, Kevin is not at fault, it is his pot smokin, crack smokin parents that need their head pulled out of their arse and then kick both of them.
Kevin just hasn't been taught, which is his parents fault.....
As Forrest Gump would say: “That's all I have to say about that.”

I look at this issue much like the issue of seat belts and motorcycle helmets. I don't like being told I have to wear them, even though you won't catch me not wearing either of them. You will never catch me disrespecting a veteran or the flag, but I don't like being told I have to do anything. As far as children are concerned, there is no choice but for parents to give guidance on these matters....unfortunately many parents are woefully lacking in the ability to guide their own lives much less give guidance to their children. I have to admit that I have unfortunately lived the Exodus 20: 4-5 verse as a youngster. When my mother started snorting the Jehovah's Witness opiate (my apologies for the Karl Marx reference), I was forced to be the kid in the cartoon. Like all kids, I eventually rebelled against my mothers orthodoxy, and started thinking for myself (sometimes I think it was good, I know in many instances it was bad).

When I was growing up, I was taught that I was to respect my parents, my elders and my country. In all three cases, this is a universal world wide belief or at least it was. Today, as we saw in the news, it surfaced in a country other than our own. Having served in Korea, I saw it there and, for me, it was reinforcement of what I learned when I was younger. Almost forgot. I was also taught to respect myself. I'll let others figure out what they think that means. wayne

It's NOT Kevin's Fault!!!....geeeeesss..wow Kevin's parents love him as their best friend, not as a child he should make his own decisions at 8 years old, Man! we are just too hard on these young kids! Now just give him his daily dose of Ritalin don't you dare discipline him and just explain to him that we Owe him everything and it was always with NO sacrifice that we have a right to just sit on OUR A$$ and let someone Else Die for his Lazy A$$,,,extreme sarcasm rant The blame Game rapid in America

Kevin should show respect regardless of ideology. You can disagree with someone or something without setting yourself up as a militant about it.
