Where can I get a radiator cap for my '99 Standard besides the dealer?
The dealer want $35 for thiers, I think it comes with a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader to help put it on!!
Or is this what I should expect to pay?

A couple of years ago several of us bought Radiator caps with a temp gage built in. These seemed to be cheaply made and leaked after a while, however they were made for import cars and as long as you get one rated with the same pressure for an import you should be ok.

Hey TX, Not doubting your need but I bought a new one and I still had a leak. If you haven't checked, check the seating surface for anything that might be imbedded in the rubber like aluminum flake. And.....if you forgot there was a set screw and muscled it off anyway(sounds like I was dumb enough to do this, doesn't it), you likely upset the seating surface of the radiator throat. I took a fine, wide, file and carefully resurfaced the top of the radiator. I don't believe I needed a new radiator cap at all but put it on anyway WITHOUT that damn set screw this time. If you do use the set screw, make sure you can see it when tight because in two years you just may forget.

The radiator cap on the Valk looks the same size as my old 1500 wing. I got a replacement at Napa, part# 703-1406. Worked well for the next two years that I owned it.

$24.49 from HDL. Part # 19045-MY3-621, it is a stock black one. Somewhere a few years ago I found a chrome Honda OE radiator cap but I can't seem to find it now. I have them on my '97 & Kim's '98. Looks exactly like the stocker but chrome, even has the warning plate on it. Anybody know about the chrome cap?

Thanks for the info fellas.
Yes, asfltdncr, I know about that annoying little screw. I haven't forgot about it, yet!
I checked the surfaces and they look good. I did wipe them down but I'll hit it with a piece of sandpaper anyway. The cap just doesn't seem to have a good tight feel when you tighten it and after 11 years the compression is probably weak.
I'm not sure what these things look like (factory) but mine has a chrome cover on it.

The factory cap looks kinda raw Painted black. If yours has a chrome cover it's an aftermarket cover. Honda offered a cap in chrome, but, was just a cap that was chrome plateded. It had the warning decal on it. You can buy the chrome cover at almost any parts supplier if you buy the stock cap
