Thanks to everyone for making us feel welcome to our first Fall Color Ride. Definitely not my last. Riding in the east Tennessee mountains was a blast. Angie was really nervous about riding the Dragon, but we rode it for the first time on the way home today. I really enjoyed it and she did too.

We got separated from the main ride pretty quickly on Saturday due to my in-laws getting a new Tri Glide a couple weeks ago and still trying to get used to it. We kinda hung back and did our own ride.  We took it pretty slow and easy on some great roads.  We were joined by Bamadrifter64, his wife Angie along with my parents who followed along in their car. We had a great time and will be back to the mountains as soon as I am able.

We even managed to find the road that Joe was avoiding due to newly spread gravel on about a 7 or 8 mile stretch.  This was Wayah Rd and was a great road to ride other than that stretch which was pretty intense.

I have wanted to get the Valk into the TN mountains for several years, and it was even better than I imagined it would be.  Can't wait to get back!!

Dang Tim......how did I miss seeing you?....Did Big Al scare you off before I got back to the fire pit last night??......I waited until it got dark to go ride the Dragon....very little traffic on it after dark....made great time.....it's about 58 miles round trip from the Philips motel to the end of the tail and back....only took about an hour and 25mins without all the other bikes to contend with...I did have to stop twice to wet down a couple of dry spots....... Cheesy

I wanted to talk to you....got to plan a ride soon to remedy that... cooldude

I got there late Friday night and stopped by the fire for a few min. I saw you and One Eyed Willy ride by the station where we left out from Saturday morning, but unfortunately I didn't make it back to the fire Saturday night. Spent some much overdue time with my Mom, Dad, wife and In-laws. Sorry I missed you.

We do need to plan a ride soon. This was my first time on the Dragon. Don't think I would try it after dark just yet!!  But I definitely want to do it again along with the Cherohala.

Tim, we had a great time on our own "ride" Saturday.  My wife hasn't ridden much at all and hasn't ridden ANY this year due to our work schedules and to say she wasn't comfortable riding fast through the curves would be an understatement, so our ride was perfect (except for the chipped portion of Wayah Road  Undecided).  Enjoyed spending the day with you and your family.  Enjoyed seeing everyone again and hate that I missed socializing at the bonfires Friday and Saturday nights, but when the wife decides to make a trip with me, I do my best to make sure that we spend some time together, so that it's not the LAST trip she makes with me.  cooldude  Hope to see everyone again soon!
