Saturday October 23rd 10am KSU 10:30

Meetup at Starbucks at Firewheel 4280 Lavon Dr, Garland TX just north of 190 on hwy 78

Destination is Big Smith's BBQ for beef ribs or whatever blows your skirt up.
This is a great hole in the wall destination that has been around for 21 years.
Physical location for Big Smith's is 9601 Hwy 154 Sulphur Springs TX

Route will go out through Rockwall and will take state highways and farm to market roads out across lake fork to Yantis and up 154 towards Suplphur Springs.

This is a lazy ride, a roundabout route, not fast paced. It will take just over two hours to reach our destination.

I have a different but slightly quicker route for the return if anyone wants to follow me back.

I'm up for it if you have enough guys to make this a ride.  I'll be leaving after lunch to head to Louisiana and will just use the BBQ to fuel my tank.

John and Chris, I don't know if you're married to the Sulphur Springs place, but if not, maybe we could head more towards Mineola or down towards Tyler? Just a thought since John is coming out of Tyler.

John, can you think of a good spot north of 20?

The East Texas Yamboree is just east of there and is this weekend. Carnival, parades, judging contests, street dancing, lots of junk food and all the yam pie you would ever care to eat.  That's where I'll be iffin the weather cooperates.

Well, give the Yam queen our regards, but I don't hold with them that won't let motorcycles be in their parades.  That just ain't right.   Roll Eyes

I have my ride route planned for Big Smith's. It's only about 50 miles from Tyler and some nice roads. Might ride east with you a bit after lunch on your way to LA.

Don't know what the weather is going to do east of here, but Frisco has a 40% chance of no thunderstorms.  With a forecast high of 76F, it sounds like great riding, but, I can't go.  Y'all have fun wherever you go!  And take your rain gear to make sure you don't get rained on.

 Uh Oh  Undecided

Looks like we can go east to get outta the weather . .   we just can't get back!

What with predictions of winds 30 - 40 mph, severe thunderstoms

and possibility of a tornado here and there . .  Cry

  anybody wanna go bowling??

Tom is dead on, we would probably be dry on the way out and have severe weather coming back. Radar shows a line of storms from Waco to Tyler moving north and expected to build through the day.

Calling this on account of the weather risk, rain is one thing, high winds and lightning another.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cleared off if anyone wants to ride i am interested.
