Sunday I did my last offical ride. Gassed her up and went and bought some .380 rounds. Added some Lucas stabilizer and took the long way home. Pulled her into the corner of the garage and put the cover on her. Now momma can get her truck inside for this winter. Been getting near mid 30's at night now and 50/60's during the day. To dark to ride when I get home and cant ride to work cause I cant get it inside for the night. Dang security. I may get it out here and there till spring but she is always away by November. To much to do before winter.

Wow...temps have been similar here. But I rode to work 4 out of 5 days last week and am so far 2 for 2 this week and plan to ride tomorrow. Man I sure love these Gerbings!!! I can't ride Thursdays because I have my bowling league right after work and it is just too much of a pain to take the bowling balls on the bike where I work now. At my last job, I could park right outside of my office window and would just leave the bowling bag strapped to the bike. But now I park in a huge parking lot in Pittsburgh and it's just not as secure. So I'd have to unstrap the bag and carry it inside, then strap it back on at the end of the day...just to unstrap it at the bowling alley 15 mins later...then restrap it for the ride home....just to unstrap it again to take it inside. So it's just easier to take the Jeep. On Friday, I'm actually planning on riding for work. I have to go to a training seminar about 90 miles away in Indiana, PA at PennDOT's office. Supposed to be in the 30's when I leave in the morning. Have I said how much I love Gerbings?? Man, I just ain't ready to start thinking about hanging it up for the winter just yet.

I too love the south. Sure, I'll never understand the joys of spending weeks polishing a bike in a warm garage as all heck snows down around the building like my northern friends...but my riding season doesn't stop. It's a trade off I can live with. Put it away carefully and keep having fun!

Thanks for reminding me on the fuel stabilizer. I usually start adding about this time of the year and hope the weather is so nice I run through four or five tanks before the bike actually sits for more than a month.
The bike is the only vehicle that gets garage space, so it is always pointed towards the door and ready to ride.

Bob, As big as your bags are .... you couldn't get the bowling ball inside one of them? Only kidding. I also want to get the truck in the garage, at least before the snow flies... so hopefully a few more riding days. It will be a tight fit.... 2 bikes, a new car and the truck in a 2 car garage with a wall or 2 of shelving, snow thrower and mower, compressor etc etc.... as well. I guess the mower will fit under a shelving unit and the snow thrower will take center stage (between the truck and car).... The bikes will be up on their dolly in the rear of garage unfortunately. I hate this time of year.... or actually just the thought of what is coming next..... Wow...temps have been similar here. But I rode to work 4 out of 5 days last week and am so far 2 for 2 this week and plan to ride tomorrow. Man I sure love these Gerbings!!! What the heck me and T.P. rode last night and we live in Minn. I am going again tonight but this just mite be the last week for us also. I feel your pain about having to put the beast to bed. Myself i go up to the airport and put in av. gas in it for the winter. P.S. someone that knows T.P. should pm him and ask him about our ride.

Brian... Busy I can understand, too cold? Not yet. I've ridden Sunday afternoon and just Last night (58 when I left, and 42 when I got home 4 hours later)... I'll admit to my cold weather gloves, and full face helmet, but it really was a nice ride (maybe 100 miles round trip) I hope I can hold off the bike cover 'till Thanksgiving... Been that way the past few years. Once the snow flies, and the salt hits the roads, I'm done 'till the spring rains clean off the roads. It's been a good year for riding & miles... Not ready for it to end yet Black Dog

" Last Ride?" Have outlawed motorcycles now? I know Illinois has been trying real hard. (lol, I know seasonal last ride thing but what if we get one of those winters again and it hits 70's in Nov or Dec then what? Heck I'd be happy with 50's. I'm just sayin - never say "last ride" - maybe "this is my first last ride of the year"?) St. Louis mid 70's Wednesday

We've had frost warnings in the morning. Maybe 55-60 degrees by afternoon. I just bought a electric jacket liner. I am going to ride until the snow flies now (which here in Michigan could be tomorrow). The winter time is a good time to do that preventive maint. that you southern boys do during your riding season.

Same here, riding in northern WI and still commuting 67 miles one way to work five days a week. It's been down to 30, but 50-60 on the way home. I should have a solid two weeks left!

Here in the Northwest were looking for a much above average snowfall basically because the sea water temps at the equator are -1.5 degrees C. below normal, and along with other oceanographic and meteorolgical dynamics.
