Well, she won't even read it, but the real point is that many other people will read it and hopefully vote and influence others to vote.

I worked as a page many moons ago and I can tell you that our congress members have staffers look at letters and just make a count of for and against issues.  I too have written letters to our Senators and Reps, it just make ME feel better having a way to speak my mind,  its still worth it!

One of my childhood friends, a long time congressional member from Indiana, was recently defeated (well... pushed out really) and we've had many discussions about the entitlement mentality that  pervades the 'old line' in Washington.  It creeps in to all of them, especially if they’ve been elected several times.   Not thier fault really - its human nature.  It is easy to forget who you represent and what their issues and principles are.  This occurs regardless of party affiliation.
