I remember some chit chat about this little device. I have an Interstate and was wondering how to wire this up so that both my Mp3 player AND my FM radio benefits from the addition. Thanks for your assistance.

I tried the original 'battery' powered unit a few years ago, and was less than impressed.

I wanted it to increase the volume of my XM MyFi, so I could use the 'edset' speakers in my full face helmet, rather than earbud type head phones.  While it did increase the volume some, it wasn't enough to be heard well over road noise and the wind noise in the helmet.

The one I tried said it would double the input volume, but I'd guess it really was more like 50 - 60 %.  The one you linked to, says 4 X the volume, so it may work better.

I'm not sure its going to help you much on an Interstate.  On MY Interstate I have the MP3 player hooked up through the Aux input to the stereo.  With some fairly cheap helmet headsets the factory stereo is loud enough to hurt my ears at full volume.(via helmet speakers)

What sort of setup do you have?

I have the stock Honda set-up with an Mp3 player hooked into the Aux input. I understand how this would benefit the Mp3 player but don't understand how to wire it to make the FM sound better through the stock speakers in the fairing. Is this possible with this unit?? If so, how?

That little boostaroo can't amplify the output to your speakers.  It can only drive a set of headphones or earbuds.

To amplify your stock stereo to the speakers, you will need a true audio amplifier with speaker level inputs that is small enough to mount on the bike. You also have to consider the speakers aren't that good to begin with.  Its been done before, but the options aren't plentiful.  Here is one option, though I have no experience with it....just giving an example:  http://www.electricalconnection.com/audio/amp.htm

I've had much better luck with noise cancelling earbuds (Sony in my case). They allow me to listen to the music at much lower sound pressure levels. Making the music louder is an effective way of making sure your ears don't serve you for as long as you need them.

These are the ones I have.

This is not an endorsement of the seller, just a view and description of the buds. I've had these for nearly 3 years, so there is very likely better ones out there, but these have been very effective!
