I'd like to add some rise to my bars.  How tall (up-in) can I put on without having to worry about replacing or re-routing cables?  I would also like to move the tach and speedo to the bar.  Would they work as is on a stock bar?  How much rise would the speedo and tach accept if on the bars?

Thanks.

I think my risers are 4 up and 1 back. No problem with the cables.

These are as much movement as you can get with no cable changes or rerouting. (Just turn the cable clips on the handlebars around 180*

No idea on the tach/speedo move.

ther is another place to check...daryl at xf6-custom.  he has a set of 4-inch polished risers...they are straight, but believe me they make the ride and handling alot more comfortable, and stable feeling.  i'm only 5'8-5'9 (short), and they feel good.

I have 6" risers on the new Valk. At first I didn't like them but have gotten used to them and enjoy. The prev. owner re-routed the cables and all works well.
The height did block the speedo & tach so I raised them both and brought them up and back, not onto the bars though (not the look for me), by fabricating a new bracket to mount them on using the original mounting holes on the top triple tree.
Try the site goose suggested, they have the stuff to move the speedo/tach to the bars.

Alot of people have put on Harley Deuce risers and still used the stock cables with no problems.......

I have these and had not problems with the cables.  Any greater rise and the throttle cables would probably bind.

chiefy....that's why i told you to go to daryl. with those 4 inch risers the handlebars will be in a place where you will really like. and you won't have any issues with the throttle cables.  he also makes a relocation kit that enables you to mount your stock gauges onto your handlebars, and carries the cables for your gauges when they are relocated.  it's like a kit form when you get all the parts together,  and it fits with with no problems.   Smiley
