Hey Guys, adding fog/spot lights to my Tourer was a no brainer but I'm clueless about what's available for my I/S. Any suggestions are appreciated.
TIA, Marty

I brought a light/wind deflector bar from Barry (Big Bikes) in New Zealand on Ebay I can't find his site maybe someone else can . It mounts under the fairing. I found some small round lights from Walmart $19. The lights are 50 watts and are bright. It is a tight fit but looks great. I had to cut the wind deflector for the light to fit in summer the deflectors come off.

I assume you don't have lights in your pods. You could add OEM knock off pod lights available from Valkyrie Bling & More http://www.valkyrieblingandmore.com/infoglikit.html

I only found it for standards/tourers not Interstates. Did I miss something? Marty

You could get a set of fog or spots at you local Wally World, Auto Store and install them on the scoops of the engine guard. Nice low lighting, giving a 3 point (triangle light view) from opposing traffic. They work well too. I have a set on my I/S that work great. I have a toggle switch mounted on the fairing, but you could very well get a switch of your choice on the bars or pod. Not sure about all states, but in PA the Aux/Fox lights must go off when high beams are switched on... although mine do not and have yet to be hit on it for state inspection.... just an FYI. Here is an example of a few available... http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Fog-Light-Custom/_/N-963fc?filterByKeyWord=fog+lights&fromString=search

The light bar does fits the I/S I have it on mine but it is a tight fit for lights.

I think this is the best bang for the buck. PIAA 1100 universal fender strut mount for Honda (but not specific to Valk), may require a bit different length bolt from the kit (one on each side), but that's all. Look at the little elbow mounts in the pics, pull your fender strut bolt and measure it, then add the right length for the elbow mount (6-8mm?) http://www.newenough.com/parts/parts/lamp_kits/piaa/1100x_multi_fit_kit_honda.html ($254) The Honda universal fit for PIAA 005 is specific to Valk, but the all-chrome, more cruiser like lite is less power/bright and more expensive. http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/LightKits/?bike=VALK ($350) http://www.newenough.com/parts/parts/lamp_kits/piaa/005_multi_fit_kit_honda.html ($273) Course the caliper mount Motolights are the best (with 50W bulbs), but the cheapest brushed finish ones are still a prohibitive $385. http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/Motolight/caliper.asp

I like the PIAAs, but didn't like their mounting arrangement. By mounting them on a caliper bolt, they're subject to stronger shocks from every little bump on the road. Moving them up on the fork tube is much gentler on the bulb filament, and at the same time elevates the lamp so it can shine down on the road a bit, rather than "skimming" it.

Seems like Big Mike has the pod system, but not sure and I don't have his home link anywhere in this box.
Maybe someone else will chime in.
I know my nephew got some from someone on this site, a member had several sets made to sell, included gaskets and etc..
Chime in Barry, I know you are reading the site, but not posting.

Kingbee, I take your point, but to me, my aux running lights are mostly about being seen in daylight, not me seeing at night, because I rarely ride at night (couple times a year). So I don't want my aux lights anywhere near my IS fairing lights because way out ahead, it just looks like one big light, and you don't get the separation between the lights like the magic-triangle which makes you so much more visible to oncoming traffic (and side streets). On the IS, I would mount aux lights to the calipers or fender bolts or the engine guards, but nowhere close to my headlights, and especially not right under my headlights. JMHO

I really like the pod lights. I think they complete the look of the I/S. It's the price that makes my wallet run away. Big Mike had them on sale a while back. If he puts them on sale again, I might jump on them. Marty

I do have to agree with Jess on the light triangle. A buddy of mine has caliper mounted Motolights on his BMW K1200LT. The light triangle instantly catches your eye. Marty

Marty I got these and mounted them on Kury P clamps on my engine bars. Or could these be made to fit or even these? Or how about these?

I got one of Big Mike's Pod light kits, works awesome and fits just like the Honda ones, Mike even includes the Honda instructions with the Template for cutting the Pods.

For sale here. http://www.newenough.com/parts/parts/lamp_kits/piaa/005_multi_fit_kit_honda.html
